Jerry Easter II, 6’5 SG Emmanuel Christian 2025 – Super Friendz 15 U: This was my first opportunity to scout the highly touted Easter and he showed impressive scoring talent all weekend. Easter has the handle of a point guard at 6’5 and just knows how to score the basketball. His main areas of attack are with the floater or in the mid-range. Easter looks to draw contact when attacking the basket and lives at the free-throw line. Easter also had good shot selection for a player with such a high volume of attempts.
Jordan Fisher, 6’5 SF Reynoldsburg 2025 – Super Friendz 15 U: Fisher showed out during the high school season and once again performed well on the grassroots circuit. Fisher has a little Malaki Branham in his game with his decisive moves and the way he cuts to the basket. Similar size as Malaki at the same age as well and the shot looks somewhat comparable. What I love most about Fisher’s game is that everything he does seems to be a quick decision, it’s hardly ever holding the ball and doing five crossovers into a step-back. Lots of attacking closeouts, spot-up attempts and transition shots.
Toby Nwokolo, 6’4 PF Reynoldsburg 2025 – Mid Ohio Pumas 15 U: A high school teammate of Fisher’s Nwokolo showed off his athleticism and first-step for the Pumas this weekend despite playing through an ankle injury on Sunday. Nwokolo is an impressive leaper and when he gets a head of steam, it’s tough to stop him from rising above defenders and finishing. Nwokolo has some clear steps for improvement with the outside shot and passing ability, but he plays hard and has a lot of physical tools to work with. I’m excited to continue to follow the development of Nwokolo and Fisher on what should be a Reynoldsburg squad that competes for district titles for years to come.
Max Lyall, 6’3 SG Tri Valley 2025 – Mid Ohio Pumas 15 U: Lyall was the top scorer I saw for the Pumas this weekend, using his strength advantage to scorer over weaker defenders when driving to the basket. Lyall is both a football and basketball standout for the Scotties and his strength gained from playing football really helped him out this weekend. Don’t want to go on too long of a tangent here, but playing multiple sports is very beneficial and football isn’t stopping Lyall from playing on grassroots weekends as well.
Cole Albers, 6’6 C Minster 2026 – Mid Ohio Pumas 15 U: Albers was playing up a grade as the incoming freshman started and competed for the Pumas this weekend. Albers has good size at around 6’6 and has some strength on his frame. Albers competed on the glass and on the interior, showing flashes of what he could be down the line. Albers is a small school product that I’ll be keeping tabs on as he develops.
