Chi-Town Tip-Off: Grit Region 17u All-Tournament Teams

<p>With the Prep Hoops Circuit Chi-Town Tip-Off officially in the rearview mirror it means that it is time for All-Tournament teams. After consulting with our team of regional scouts, as well as other media members at the event, we are ready to release our Grit Region First, Second, and Third team honors. Let’s dive on in!</p> <h2>First Team</h2> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="939050" first="Darrin" last="Ames"] (Kenwood Academy 2023/Mac Irvin Fire 2023 EYBL): The term "three level scorer" gets thrown around far too often in scouting circles. However, this 6'1" point guard can truly fill it up from anywhere on the court. He has a sweet lefty stroke, is lightening quick with the ball, and explosive attacking the basket. The 4-star, Top 50 prospect put on a show all weekend at the Chi-Town Tip-Off.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="939051" first="Darrion" last="Baker"] (St. Rita H.S. 2023/Team Rose 2023 3SSB): Baker is a physical presence around the basket that plays above the rim. He rebounds outside of his area and finishes very well inside. 6'8" strong and mobile forward. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="868239" first="Cooper" last="Farrall"] (Culver Academy 2023/Team GRIII 2023 Elite): This 6'6" wing had an outstanding weekend while playing against some high level completion. Farrall shot the ball extremely well and showed his offensive versatility. He will be a hot commodity going into this weekend's live period.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1215287" first="Jake" last="Fiegen"] (New Trier H.S. 2023/Full Package 2023 Black): The Full Package 2023 Black sharp-shooter continued his strong spring with a great performance at the Chi-Town Tip-Off. Fiegen averaged 19 points per game while going 20-38 from beyond the arc. </p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="939077" first="Javonte" last="Taylor"] (Donda Academy 2023/Mac Irvin Fire 2023 EYBL): Taylor showed why he is a 5-star, Top 5 prospect in the country. Every program in the country is after the 6'8" smooth offensive talent. He showed his two-way ability over the weekend scoring it at will and dominating on the defensive end for stretches as well.</p> <h2>Second Team</h2> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1215311" first="Nikola" last="Abusara"] (Benet H.S. 2023/Full Package 2023 Black): This 6'4" two-way prospect had a great weekend for Full Package 2023 Black. He uses his size well to get to the basket off of the dribble and has a consistent jumper as well. Good on-ball defender.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1215293" first="Mekhi" last="Doby"] (Guilford H.S. 2023/Illinois Elite 2023): Doby is a great shooter with a long, athletic 6'2" frame. He brought it on both ends all weekend long for Illinois Elite 2023 and is an interesting backcourt prospect for coaches to get eyes on in the next live recruiting period.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="939059" first="Jalen" last="Griffith"] (Simeon H.S. 2023/Team Rose 2023 3SSB): A smaller point guard with a ton of quickness, Griffith showed his dynamic playmaking ability at the Chi-Town Tip-Off. Griffith will have plenty of college coaches following him around this weekend for the live recruiting period. </p> <p>Julian Mitchell (Lakota East H.S. 2023/R 4 L Elite 2023): Mitchell is a long, smooth wing with a great looking shot from beyond the arc. He made some tough pull-up threes over the weekend and showed the ability to create his own shot in the half court as well. Talented all-around offensive threat.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1210394" first="KJ" last="Vasser"] (Yorkville Christian H.S. 2022/All in Athletics 2023 Adidas Gold): This playmaker was getting it done every time I would catch him in action over the weekend.
