The third week in April included plenty of recruitment news with quite a few players picking up new interest and offers while others made their college decisions for next year. Let’s take a closer look at some of the latest recruitment news from around the state.

Word of God Christian Guard [player_tooltip player_id="574440" first="Mike" last="Best"] is officially off the board after making his decision to attend Allen University in South Carolina. Best has the ability to score the ball at a nice level, gets after it on the defensive side of the ball and brings a level of physical and mental toughness that you love to see.

Farmville Central Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id="854917" first="Jah" last="Short"] recently picked up an offer from Mount Olive and their new coaching staff which should show how much they are making him a priority. Short has impressive athletic ability, can get into the paint at a high rate and has played in a winning program at Farmville Central, competing for a state Championship on a yearly basis.

Forsyth Country Day School Guard [player_tooltip player_id="1273278" first="Sterling" last="Charles Jr"] made his decision to attend Ferrum College and is a player that we feel will be able to make a nice impact early on. During the Triad All-Star Classic, he put on a scoring exhibition from the perimeter, and we expect to see plenty of that as he takes the floor next season.

Millbrook HS Senior Forward [player_tooltip player_id="1126560" first="CeeJay" last="Jordan"] will be taking the JUCO route next season after he made the decision to attend Wake Tech CC. Jordan put together a nice senior campaign, scoring and rebounding for his team at a nice rate which allowed them to make a nice run in the state playoffs.

Fayetteville Academy Guard [player_tooltip player_id="787670" first="Amari" last="Pearson"] is another player that will be taking the JUCO route next season as he is headed to Davidson County Community College, which is a program that has competed for a national championship in the past two season. Pearson plays the game with a very high motor, has next level athletic ability and showed this year that he can score the ball at nice rate.
