Continue ReadingThe 2022 class has been hurt by the transfer portal, but that doesn’t mean college programs aren’t looking for high school prospects. Many college programs have available scholarships right now and are either going to give them to players in the portal or unsigned high school seniors because each program needs to fill a roster for next season. In this article we’re going to break down the top available SF’s in Ohio’s 2022 class.
Andrew Harp Andrew Harp 6'5" | SF Elder | 2022 State OH , 6’5 SF Elder 2022: Harp was a stud on both the gridiron and the hardwood for Elder and it’s not clear what sport he’ll opt to play at the next level. On the basketball court, Harp is a sweet shooting wing forward who uses his strength and shooting ability to play efficient offensive basketball. Harp will be college ready for a half-court system after playing for Elder’s methodical offense. I think Harp makes a lot of sense in a league like the PSAC due to his football body and half-court composure.
Sam Marbury Sam Marbury 6'5" | SF Solon | 2022 State OH , 6’5 SF Solon 2022: Marbury is a guy I unfortunately didn’t get to see during his senior season for Solon, but after watching him as a Sophomore, Junior and in the spring for TNBA , I found a lot of things I liked about his game. Marbury has some intriguing skills at 6’5 including his handle, passing ability and athleticism. Marbury makes a decent amount of defensive stock plays as well with blocks and steals to help start the fast break. Marbury is a prospect that scholarship programs and post graduate schools should be taking a look at, he can provide valuable wing depth.
Aboubacar Cisse Aboubacar Cisse 6'5" | SF Western Hills | 2022 State OH , 6’4 SF Western Hills 2022: Aboubacar has been busy recently, showing out at the Prep Hoops Hard Work region kick off and recently taking a visit to West Virginia State last weekend. Cisse would be a valuable grab for a Division II program with his ability to run in transition and his college ready body. Cisse is also an underrated spot-up shooter from downtown and could be good in a low volume offensive role early on. I liked the energy Cisse brought with C2K last summer off the bench, showing he can produce without being a star.
Jalen Wenger Jalen Wenger 6'4" | SF Dalton | 2022 State OH , 6’5 SF Dalton 2022: Wenger is another prospect who has been busy on the recruiting trail recently, taking official visits to Wheeling and Alderson Broaddus in the past week. After leading Dalton to one of their best seasons in school history with his younger brother Braylon. Jalen is a good athlete from the wing position who put up huge scoring numbers last season. Wenger makes sense for both of the West Virginia programs he visited to bring in.
LA Walker LA Walker 6'5" | SF Linden-McKinley | 2022 State OH , 6’5 SF Linden-McKinley 2022: Walker has been a hot name within JUCO programs as the Columbus City League stud had a breakout senior season as the star for Linden-McKinley leading them to a district title as a senior. Walker is a two way wing who can be very dangerous when he gets hot from the outside. Linden-McKinley was one of the toughest teams I watched all season and I’d bet on Walker thriving in the JUCO setting and having a nice college career at the NCAA level.
