Over the 2021-2022 high school season, we saw many players who proved they were worth more than their rank. Here are the top players who made large leaps in the Prep Hoops 2022 Colorado rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="1139528" first="Mostapha" last="Elmoutaouakkil"]- Eaglecrest

Mostapha had one of the most impressive senior seasons of anyone in the state being the most ungaurdable player on the floor every game. Mostapha uses his body and hands better than anyone in the state, he knows how to create contact then uses his length and great footwork to finish around the rim. Near the rim he uses a variety of euro steps, hop steps, and jump stops, he has a great sense of when to attack and when to pump fake being patient and using his pivot to find the best shot. Defensively Mostapha competes and uses his long arms to deflect passes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1284414" first="Brock" last="Mishak"]- Fossil Ridge

[player_tooltip player_id="1284414" first="Brock" last="Mishak"] showed everyone that he is that guy leading Fossil Ridge on a great run being the 5A state runner-ups. Brock is a great competitor and leader who sets the tempo for his team on both ends of the floor. From three-point land, he is someone you cannot give any space to. Brock uses defenders guarding him closely to blow by them, he does this both with the ball in his hands and off-ball, he is an exceptional off-ball cutter. The West Texas A&M commit does a great job finishing around and above defenders, he is great at absorbing contact in the air to find the best finish.

[player_tooltip player_id="1284421" first="Luke" last="Williams"]- Chaparral

The Adams State commit had a great senior season proving that he is one of the top guards in this class. Luke was the floor general for a good Chaparral squad and was able to effectively score and get all of his teammates involved every night. He is an undersized guard who shows no fear when attacking the basket. Luke contorts his body and sneaks under defenders with his quickness to finish some miraculous shots around the rim. Being such a good scoring threat he draws a lot of defenders when attacking the rim and is a good dish-off passer who finds teammates for open layups.

[player_tooltip player_id="1160721" first="Braden" last="Korpela"]- Aspen

[player_tooltip player_id="1160721" first="Braden" last="Korpela"] made the biggest leap in the rankings of anyone moving up nearly 100 spots from where he was ranked previously. The Washington State commit is a lengthy skilled wing who does a bit of everything on the floor. Braden helped lead Aspen to win the 3A state championship as their main scoring option. He is a three-level scorer who moves well off of the ball knowing how to efficiently find open spots near the basket and on the three-point line. Braden is a momentum-changing playmaker, who makes buckets in clutch situations, skys for blocks, and can throw down big dunks.

[player_tooltip player_id="1143879" first="Ty" last="Nettles"]- Douglas County

[player_tooltip player_id="1143879" first="Ty" last="Nettles"] is a player who just has that dawg mentality. Defensively he is a pitbull who once he’s on defender you would find it very hard to get him off. Ty forces turnovers by being a pest and predicting passing lanes and picking pockets. On the offensive end, Ty is quick and has a tight handle on the ball. He looks best when scoring in the mid-range and with floaters, he is able to stop on a dime when pulling up in the mid range. Ty is still unsigned and a gritty defensive guard who coaches should be looking at!
