The South Jersey Group 3 final was no different as Woodow Wilson and Burlington Township battled all game with the Tigers emerging with a 47-40 victory. Here are the top standouts from the sectional final between Woodrow Wilson and Burlington Township.
Zoe Holman Zoe Holman 5'10" | PG Woodrow Wilson | 2022 State NJ , 5’10 PG Woodrow Wilson 2022
Holman was making plays throughout the game for the Tigers in key situations, which helped them secure the victory. The 5’10 guard used his handle and quick first step to get by his defender and make plays in the lane. Holman came up with timely steals, including one right before halftime which he converted into a layup to give the Tigers a six-point lead. He made good passes throughout the game and played with poise late in the game. Holman is a gritty guard prospect who made winning plays for Woodrow Wilson in the sectional final.
Amar Lane Amar Lane 6'6" | PF Quality Academy Prep | 2023 State NJ , 6’6 PF/C Burlington Township 2022
Lane made a huge impact throughout the game as he controlled the interior for the Falcons. The 6’6 forward swatted multiple shots around the rim with his combination of size, length, athleticism and timing. Lane altered plenty of other shots around the rim and fought for rebounds on both ends of the floor. He ran the floor hard and served as an outlet to beat the press. Lane is one of the top shot-blockers available in the 2022 class and put it on display in the sectional final.
Jacier Proctor, 6’0 SG Woodrow Wilson 2022
Proctor was key for the Tigers in the final as he hit big shots for them throughout the night. The 6’0 guard shot the ball with confidence from distance and has a good release on his shot. Proctor moved well off the ball, freeing himself for open jumpers behind the arc. He worked hard on the defensive end and did not force many shots in the half court. Proctor’s ability to knock down shots from behind the arc is something that will help Woodrow Wilson in a big way in the Group 3 semifinals against Manasquan.
Maurice Crump Maurice Crump 5'8" | PG Burlington Township | 2023 State NJ , 5’8 PG Burlington Township 2023
Crump led the way for the Falcons offensively as he dropped a team-high 15 points. The 5’8 junior scored the first five points of the game as he was able to get into the lane and finish, then countered with a triple. Poole used his handle to create space for himself and shoot off the dribble. He used his speed to push the pace in the open floor, where he was able to find his teammates running the floor. Crump is a quick, scoring lead guard who should have a big senior season for Burlington Township.
Will Love, 6’4 PF Woodrow Wilson 2024
Love had trouble scoring over Lane’s length, but his work down low was key for the Tigers. The 6’4 dual-sport athlete fought for rebounds on both ends of the floor and was able to secure second chance opportunities for his team. Love ran the floor hard and was able to establish position in the paint. He influenced shots on the defensive end and muscled shots through contact.
