<p>Here is a closer look at the top-10 breakout performers of the 2021-2022 season. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#10 [player_tooltip player_id="815609" first="John" last="Loughlin"] | Episcopal (VA) ’22</h5>
<p>Loughlin had his best statistical season as a senior. He led the area in made threes with 64 and scored a personal best 40 points in a memorable win at conference rival SSSAS. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#9 [player_tooltip player_id="1155483" first="Gio" last="Moore"] | Blair (MD) ’22</h5>
<p>Moore went from Rock Creek to Blair where he thrived as a senior. He averaged 22.7 points per game, good enough to rank him first on the <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/allmetsports/2020-winter/leaders/boys-basketball/">All-Met Sports Leaderboard</a>. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#8 <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/marvin-brimage-jr/">Marvin Brimage Jr.</a> | Wilson (DC) ’23</h5>
<p>Brimage was a reliable scorer all season long for the Tigers. His emergence as an offensive threat helped propel the Tigers to the city championship. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#7 [player_tooltip player_id="1225253" first="Drew" last="McKenna"] | Glenelg Country (MD) ’24</h5>
<p>McKenna established himself as a top tier prospect in the 2024 class this season. He enjoyed  a productive sophomore campaign for the Dragons during which he averaged over 20 points per game. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#6 [player_tooltip player_id="957026" first="Malik" last="Mack"] | St. John’s (DC) ’23</h5>
<p>Mack returned from serious injury to play some of the best basketball to date. He was recognized by earning first team All-WCAC honors. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#5 [player_tooltip player_id="1362688" first="Cyrus" last="Chisolm"] | Sandy Spring (MD) ’23</h5>
<p>Chisolm is one of the best kept secrets in the area. His stellar play on both ends of the floor was a key factor in helping Sandy Spring lift the PVAC Championship. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#4 [player_tooltip player_id="1358594" first="Montez" last="Steele"] | Friendship Tech (DC) ’22</h5>
<p>Steele is a versatile lead guard who makes everyone around him better. As the veteran on a young team, he led the Titans to the PCSAA Championship with a win over Friendship Collegate. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#3 [player_tooltip player_id="1259542" first="Ben" last="Hammond"] | Paul VI (VA) ’24</h5>
<p>Hammond stepped up when his team needed him most this postseason. With [player_tooltip player_id="1259620" first="Darren" last="Harris"] out due to injury, he saw increased opportunities and took advantage. Hammond’s solid play was instrumental for the Panthers on their way to winning the WCAC and VISAA titles respectively.</p>
<h5 class="p1">#2 [player_tooltip player_id="1127314" first="Caleb" last="Williams"] | Sidwell Friends (DC) ’24</h5>
<p>There may not be a player who improved more from start to finish this season than [player_tooltip player_id="1127314" first="Caleb" last="Williams"]. By season’s end, he was scoring in double figures routinely, controlling the glass, and making winning plays in crucial moments. </p>
<h5 class="p1">#1 [player_tooltip player_id="1403962" first="David" last="King"] | Hayfield (VA) ’23</h5>
<p>King has been on the map for a while, but he truly rose to prominence this season. With the Hawks going unbeaten, he remained a consistent threat to opponents in the paint.
