The updated Prephoops Player c/o 2024 Rankings have been released! These are our most extensive rankings to date with over 60 prospects ranked. The high school season provided us with an opportunity to go deep and evaluate prospects of all levels. Several players used the season as an opportunity to put their names on the map. In this article, we breakdown some of the new additions to the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="1336292" first="Nathan" last="Rivera"] 6’3 PF Palo Verde (#67) Rivera makes the list after Watching him play JV during the season. The PF is a bruising big man whose best skill is his ability to rebound the basketball. He’s an interior defender, who finds ways to score off putbacks around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1088249" first="Donovan" last="Schwallie"] 5’8 PG Silverado (#66) Schwallie is a tempo-changing, jitterbug PG. He saw limited minutes for Silverado varsity but displayed the ability to defend on the Varsity level. His backup ballhandling, and on-ball defense, propelled him into the rankings for the first time.

[player_tooltip player_id="1330085" first="Tayshaun" last="Waldrop"] 5’11 PG Basic (#65) (featured image) - Waldrop has some skills. He’s able to put pressure on defenders, with his full-court ability. He’s fast, and his ability to get paint touches increases his value. Waldrop enters his first rankings as a top 70 player.

[player_tooltip player_id="1356557" first="Marcell" last="Simpson"] 5’10 PG Silverado (#64) - Simpson made his impact felt on the defensive end. A pitbull on-ball defender, the guard impressed this season, with his willingness to lock up on the defensive end. Simpson has good lateral quickness and showed the ability to pick up full court on more than one occasion.

[player_tooltip player_id="1164607" first="Jake" last="Wohl"] 5’11 CG Coronado (#63) - Wohl is a high IQ player, that plays hard. He’s a good driver and has shown the ability to create for others. He’s best when he can play in transition, showing a knack for finding the open man.

[player_tooltip player_id="1164613" first="Luke" last="Wohl"] 5’11 CG Coronado (#62) - Obviously it’s difficult to separate him from his brother. Like his twin, Wohl possesses a good skill set. He can play both sports in the backcourt, defending the 1 or the 2 with high effort and energy, or playing with the ball in his hand on the offensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id="1397784" first="Roman" last="Rose"] 5’10 SG Boulder City (#60) - I saw Rose in a game earlier in the year, and he caught my eye. Then he started going crazy during the state playoffs and became impossible to ignore. The sniper has a quick release and really gave his squad a lift during the 3A semifinals. Using his signature skill, Rose has cracked the top 60 in his class.

[player_tooltip player_id="1325507" first="Chris" last="Natale"] 6’4 PF Foothill (#59) - First spotted Natale in a grassroots game during the high school season. His size is obvious and he moves well. Natale, is raw, however, he can impact games with his interior defense. He’ll be a player to keep an eye on because if he hits another growth spurt, or tightens his skill he could move into the sleeper category.
