Adriel Smith Adriel Smith 5'10" | CG Rose Hill | 2022 State KS – The Rose Hill guard transferring in from east high school instantly made noise for the program. Smith brought a different style of basketball to the league with his elite athleticism getting up and down the court on a one-man fastbreak. Adriel achieved his 1,000 career points this season and has earned first-team all-league this season while being nominated for player of the year. Ended his season earlier than he had planned in the sub-state championship game, his growth in his game was impressive. From getting consistent charges called on him to develop a pull-up jumper in the paint, you could only imagine what he adds next. He loves to finish left but shoots right hand, its hard to push him one way or another.
Jeremiah Kemboi- Kemboi the talented 2 sports athlete continued to show why he was the focal point at Eldorado. Kemboi has the ability to dictate a lot of things on the court and surprisingly so at his pace. He doesn’t play fast but more so at a slower pace regardless of the game but it worked for him at a high level and if you watch him play you will see why. He has the ability to control the tempo of the game, using angles to get to his spots on the floor and angles on the defensive end to fluster his opponents. Jeremiah’s ability to score using his body to knock defenders off and get to the free-throw line and convert, it doesn’t take him long to score 20 on you fast.
Dauntay King- The junior guard for the salthawks provided exactly what they needed to make them a contender. King’s ability to make plays and control the tempo was huge for the salthawks. What sticks out about king is his ability to have quick and active hands on the defensive end. From on-ball steals to playing the passing lane and getting interceptions, he did it all for the salthawks on the defensive end. On the offensive side of things, he has quick feet which gives him the ability to blow by defenders and finish at the rim with either hand. Something you love about him when watching him play or his film is you’ll see possessions where he won’t settle for the 3 and will get to the rim.
Mason Belcher Mason Belcher 6'4" | PF Maize | 2022 State KS – The 6’7″ athlete for the eagles has the ability to develop into an all-around player. He has shown the ability to put the ball on the floor, loves to shoot the 3, and can finish above the rim. Mason’s length and awareness give him the ability to finish in traffic through the contact of the defenders. Belcher causes a lot of mismatch problems on the offensive end because of his ability to stretch the floor and pull the post players away from the rim with his ability to shoot the 3 at a high clip.
Trey Buckner Trey Buckner 5'11" Trinity Academy | 2022 KS – One thing that stands out right away to you is his college-ready body. The senior at trinity got a late start but made up for it with his ability to come in right away and make an impact for the knights. Trey who is known to shoot the 3 also has the ability to put the ball on the floor and make plays for himself and his teammates. Buckner’s ability to accept tough coaching might be one of the things that separate him from a lot of other athletes.
