Sean McKitrick (Carroll)
Whenever a guard can show poise and confidence against a high pressure defensive team like Trotwood, they are going to catch my eye. McKitrick did just that and did well against the young Rams. Him keeping his cool went a long way in the Patriots being able to pull the upset Friday night. The junior guard has been known previously for his shooting capabilities but he was taking care of scoring putting the ball in the basket on the drive. With continued growth, McKitrick is going to be a target for D3s across the state.
Stanley Clyne Stanley Clyne 6'3" | SG Tippecanoe | 2023 State OH (Tippecanoe)
Clyne is so explosive on the bounce and really did what he could keep Tipp in the game with C-J on Friday night. Clyne hits some big perimeter shots for the Red Devils until the Eagles began to really clamp down on him defensively. His green light to continue to shoot the ball could be crucial in how well Tipp does next year as Clyne clearly can be a volume scorer in the MVL and could compete for POY honors in a year.
Connor Stonebraker (Versailles)
Stonebraker took a minute to get going Saturday as Miami East jumped out to a really fast start. Once he got into a groove, there was nothing the Vikings could do to stop him. The 6-foot-7 PF was a force on the glass with his size and physicality. Seemingly jumped over Miami East defenders for boards and just continued to do this throughout the afternoon. His ability to influence opposing bigs will go a long way in how far Versailles can go this postseason.
Drew Koning (Cedarville)
Koning couldn’t find a groove offensively to start, but once the shots started falling Saturday, the confidence went up. The junior PG is scrappy as heck and finished the ball exceptionally well against the Irish and their physicality and size. Koning gave me flashbacks to his brother Trent Koning last year with his ability to just simply hits shots when it mattered most. Drew connected on perimeter shots late and started to build the momentum the Indians needed to erase a 16 point deficit.
Tyler Galluch (Catholic Central)
Galluch has been one of the most impressive players in Division IV this year with his brute strength and finishing capabilities. The 6-foot-4 SF is such a tough guy to defend due to his quickness for his size and strength on the drive. Galluch can beat slower defenders off the perimeter and finds the lane consistently. Defensively, he continues the toughness as he shut down Cedarville’s 6-foot-8 senior on the block all night. Galluch has a high ceiling and could really see his recruitment take off this Spring.
