SCHSL: Class 5A Quarterfinals

<p>The table is set in Class 5A for the Upper and Lower State Championship Games. Who will be playing come this Saturday in the Final 4? Read more inside right here. </p> <p><em><strong>Lower State Bracket </strong></em></p> <p>Dutch Fork defeated the Sumter HS Gamecocks 56-48 to advance to the Florence Center on Saturday night. The Silver Foxes were led in scoring by <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="976990" first="Houston" last="Jones"]</strong> with 28 points. Jones will play at Presbyterian College next season. The Silver Foxes were 15-16 from the free throw line in the game. </p> <p>The Sumter HS Gamecocks finished the season at (24-5) this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="837351" first="Nakeem" last="Isaac"]</strong> led the way with 19 points while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1376425" first="Ahmari" last="Samuel"]</strong> chipped in with 11 points. </p> <p>The Fort Dorchester Patriots were upset last season by River Bluff HS in the opening round of the state playoffs. This season the Patriots defeated the Lexington HS Wildcats 47-45 to advance to the Florence Center on Saturday evening to play Dutch Fork HS. The Patriots move to (24-1) on the season and have a current 13 game winning streak. This will be the first time in school history playing in the Lower State Championship Game. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930640" first="Demetris" last="McKelvey"]</strong> led the way with 13 points and 10 rebounds. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1149791" first="Daniel" last="Lee"]</strong> added 11 points and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="976991" first="O’Marion" last="Green"]</strong> chipped in with 6 points. </p> <p>The Wildcats finished the season at (15-13). Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="986184" first="Cameron" last="Scott"]</strong> led the way with 16 points while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="996189" first="Jose" last="Figueroa"]</strong> added 8 points. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><em><strong>Upper State Bracket </strong></em></p> <p>The Mauldin HS Mavericks won in dramatic fashion last night defeating the Dorman HS Cavaliers. The Mavericks won 69-68 on a last second 3-pointer made by <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="780355" first="Caleb" last="Byrd"]</strong> at the buzzer to advance to the Upper State Championship Game on Saturday. Byrd and teammate <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1017696" first="Drake" last="Downs"]</strong> both finished the night with 22 points apiece.</p> <p>USC Upstate signee <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="650234" first="Jordyn" last="Surratt"]</strong> finished with 18 points for the Cavaliers. Alabama recruit <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930598" first="Noah" last="Clowney"]</strong> scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in defeat for Dorman HS. </p> <p>The Ridge View HS Blazers will be matched up with Mauldin HS on Saturday evening at Bob Jones University. The Blazers had no troubles with Fort Mill HS in a 63-44 win.
