This year there are a lot of games to keep an eye on in 4A’s first round, here are some of our picks to lookout for.

28. Golden vs. 37. Regis Groff

Golden always seems to have good teams in 4A but do not be surprised if this Regis Groff squad can make this game interesting. Regis Groff has shown the ability to upset teams as they recently beat Thomas Jefferson by one point. Both of these teams are being led by strong senior performers. Golden is led by Richie Pruitt, a 6’3 do it all on the floor guard. Chiedoziem Nwoke leads the charge for Regis Groff, he is a solid athlete who can light it up when he gets hot from the field. These two high-scoring seniors should be a fun match-up.

27. Severance vs. 38. Littleton

Severance and Littleton both have some good height and athletes that could make for a good match-up. Severance has one of the best junior big men in the state, [player_tooltip player_id="1284530" first="Ty" last="Adam"] who has been dominating this year averaging almost a double-double with over 20 points a game. [player_tooltip player_id="1139977" first="Treyton" last="Fletcher"] and Luke Renshaw will be tasked with having to slow down Ty. Luke Renshaw is a good athlete who has a knack for jumping passing lanes and [player_tooltip player_id="1139977" first="Treyton" last="Fletcher"] is a bulky 6’5 big who has a solid post-game. Littleton recently beat no. 28 Golden so they could have a chance of keeping it close with Severance.

31. Roosevelt vs. 34. Aurora Central

Both Roosevelt and Aurora Central are being led by football players who more than hold their own on the hardwood. Roosevelt is being led by senior guard Brock Saya, who is a downhill guard who often pressures the ball to start fastbreaks, where he often finishes it as well as he is a creative finisher around the rim. Aurora Central is led by junior [player_tooltip player_id="1139828" first="Cai’Reis" last="Curby"], who is a super athletic guard who finishes above the rim often. Watch out for this game to become a track meet as Roosevelt often likes to press teams, could be a high-energy back and forth game!

25. Palmer Ridge vs. 40. Denver North

Both of these teams have similar records and could create an interesting match-up. Palmer Ridge is a team that really moves the ball around and does not have a go-to guy necessarily. Denver North is led by sharpshooting sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1137820" first="Jacob" last="Giron"] who can light it up when on fire. Palmer Ridge also has an impressive sophomore Jimmer Weir who is sneaky on the floor and can pick players’ pockets.
