The NCHSAA 2A East is down to the final four teams in the playoff picture. Take a look at what to expect in Tuesday’s matchups.

Farmville Central (25-3) @ St. Paul’s (22-5)

St. Paul’s High has won 18 games and counting coming into a big meeting with last year’s state champions in the Farmville Central Jaguars. [player_tooltip player_id="1032850" first="Jeyvian" last="Tatum"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1317697" first="Josh" last="Henderson"] are the two leading senior names to know for them given their ability to score the ball around the rim. Cameron Revels and [player_tooltip player_id="1384476" first="Marcus" last="Galbreath Jr"] are the other names to know for them. Revels has been a solid third option in the rotation while Galbreath is an emerging forward with solid upside as a paint presence.

Farmville Central has a new crow of stars ready to make their stake in their year’s state playoffs. MJ Williams, [player_tooltip player_id="854917" first="Jah" last="Short"] and [player_tooltip player_id="854911" first="Jayden" last="Pitt"] have been a handful in the backcourt while [player_tooltip player_id="1076368" first="Alex" last="Moye"] and [player_tooltip player_id="577839" first="Derrick" last="Cox"] have been their other playmakers in the paint and defensively. They’re another squad that’s on a win streak of their own at 14 as they look to grab a victory with the winner of Cummings/Kinston awaiting them.

Cummings (22-0) @ Kinston (22-2)

Kinston High has things all set up for a rematch against Farmville Central, but they can’t look past unbeaten Cummings High. Winston-Salem State commit [player_tooltip player_id="577842" first="Jeremy" last="Dixon"] leads the way while junior forward [player_tooltip player_id="854918" first="Horace" last="Smith"] is an intriguing name in the 2023 class to watch with his ability to attack the rim and effect shots in the paint. They’re a scrappy bunch that should get all they can handle from the Cavaliers.

Cummings went on the road and took home a 65-63 victory over Goldsboro and they’ll face another hostile environment on Tuesday night in Kinston. Freshman prospect [player_tooltip player_id="1382077" first="Johnniyus" last="Sharpe"] has been the biggest name to know for the Cavaliers. He leads the way for them in scoring (17.1 ppg) while 2024 forward [player_tooltip player_id="1131338" first="Kaden" last="Hammond"] has held his own in the frontcourt with 11.9 ppg, 10.9 rpg, 2.1 apg and 2.0 bpg. Then there’s unsigned senior Zion Crawley to keep an eye on, he leads the way with 2.6 spg for their squad. They’ve got an intriguing formula as they look to play spoiler on the road once again.
