It’s state tournament week in Florida.

In this article, my focus is on Class 7A Region 4. The No. 1 seed is Miami Columbus with a 24-2 overall record. The Explorers are one of the best teams in Florida led by phenom freshman [player_tooltip player_id="1301715" first="Cayden" last="Boozer"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1301714" first="Cameron" last="Boozer"]. Cayden is a 6-foot-4 guard that is averaging 17.2 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game. [player_tooltip player_id="1301714" first="Cameron" last="Boozer"] is a 6-foot-8 forward that is averaging 19.5 points and 11.8 boards per game. 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1163358" first="Malik" last="Abdullahi"] is a long, athletic forward that can protect rim. The No. 8 seed is Flanagan with a 16-8 overall record. The Falcons are a tough team with 6-foot-9 forward [player_tooltip player_id="1306091" first="Jeremy" last="Elyzee"] (15 ppg/14 rpg) leading the way. 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1316851" first="Kemani" last="Wilson"] is a capable three-level scorer. I’ve watched the 6-foot-7 shooting guard go off in stretches. 5-foot-9 guard Branson Cox is a solid guard that can score at the basket. Cox is averaging 11.1 points, 4.2 assists, 3.8 steals and 3.7 rebounds per game.

No. 4 seed West Broward will face No. 5 seed Miami High. The Bobcats are 12-9 overall and on a three game winning streak. 2023 Jordan Dash and 2022 Dominick Cabrera lead the way in scoring. The Stingarees (13-8) are led by [player_tooltip player_id="712125" first="Kuran" last="Bryant"] with 17.5 points abs over ten boards per game. Bryant is a physical kid that can punish his opponents inside. 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829393" first="Jesus" last="Rivas"] is a tough front court player with over eight boards per contest. 6-foot-4 guards [player_tooltip player_id="962859" first="Josh" last="Middlebrooks"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1161402" first="Yasmani" last="Torriente"] are each averaging in double-figures.

No. 2 seed Cypress Bay will face No. 7 seed Coral Gables. The Lightning (21-5) have had a terrific season under head coach Jason Looky. 2022’s [player_tooltip player_id="1062420" first="Noah" last="Kattan"] and [player_tooltip player_id="829477" first="Kevin" last="Pazmino"] are dangerous shooters with their length. Both players are 6-foot-3 and 6-foot-5, respectively. 2022 Maxwell Gordon is a high IQ guard that can score or dish. The Cavaliers (12-9) are led by 2022 Romulo Delgado-Gonzalez. The 6-foot-3 guard is averaging 22.3 points and 7.3 boards per game. Delgado-Gonzalez has plenty of size to go along with his athleticism to be an effective guard.

No. 3 seed Miami Palmetto will face No. 6 seed Doral Academy. The Panthers are 19-8 overall and on a five game winning streak. 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="814912" first="Jimel" last="Lane"] is a 6-foot-7 guard that has really developed at the position. Lane is averaging 24.5 points and ten boards per game. 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1055700" first="Braylon" last="Burbridge"] is a tough guard to stop off the dribble. 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="956773" first="Warner" last="Davis"] can really shoot from deep. The Firebirds are 15-10 overall. 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="955591" first="Justin" last="Johnson"] leads the way with just under 16 points per game. The 6-foot-7 Johnson is athletic wing and can score off his length from any area on the floor. He holds an offer from Georgetown.
