District 1:
Lynden Christian took care of the NWC conference fairly easily. They took down #2 Blaine, 86-57 in the district title game, to advance to the District 1/2 crossover.
Andrew Hommes Andrew Hommes 6'7" | SF Lynden Christian | 2022 State WA – 2022 6’6” F Lynden Christian Hommes has been the rock for this Lyncs team all season. They frequently relying on him to get his shots up to score his points. Against Blaine HS, the senior had a normal day out compiling 24 points. His 6’6” frame allows him to get to the bucket with ease, especially against teams who lack size. Andrew is extremely versatile as well, being able to hit the deep shot from NBA range.
Jamison Hintz– 2022 6’2” G Lynden Christian
Jamison has been a stud on the football field for the Lyncs, help leading the team deep into the playoffs. His playoff experience is paying off very well for him on the court now. His 16 points in the 2nd quarter against Blaine helped pull Lynden Christian away. Hintz deep shot has been consistent all season, now he’s hitting his groove at just the right time. Blaine HS played Nooksack Valley HS to see who would also advance to the District 1/2 crossover.
The Borderites took care of business with a 58-37 win over the Pioneers.
Scott Baldwin– 6’0” G Blaine HS
Scott is one of those guys who does whatever it takes to win and always leaves his heart on the court. Watching Scott’s film, he’s a very gritty defender. He’s not afraid to get in your face and play tight man on man defense. On offense, he’s always distributing the ball to his teammates, never playing selfish. He finished with 13 points against Nooksack Valley, leading Blaine.
Cole Thomas– 6’3” G/F Blaine HS
Blaine’s go-to guy all season has been Thomas. The senior has led the Borderites all season being the consistent scorer throughout the season. He’s one of the most underrated players in the NWC, he’s fantastic when working the open floor and when working from the high post.
District 2:
District 2 contains a couple more teams so it’s a bit more complicated. To sum it up just a little, 4 teams make the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-final games advance to the district 2 title game & both advance to regionals. The losing teams will face each other, the winner places 3rd in the district and also advances to regionals. The 4th place team will go to the District 1/2 cross-over. There’s also a loser out side, with all the teams who have lost. Whoever comes from that side of the bracket, places 5th and also advances to the District 1/2 cross-over.
A little bit more complicated, let’s break it down & see how some players did.
#9 seed Sultan HS has been a little bit of cinderella in the loser-out side. They beat #6 Northwest 59-49, then beat #12 South Widbey 77-32. In the final win or go home game in the loser-out side, Sultan faced #5 Bear Creek and won 56-47 to advance to the District 1/2 cross-over.
Tyler Sargent– 6’3” 2022 G Sultan HS
Tyler was on fire for Sultan against Bear Creek, where he sunk 4 three pointers. Tyler’s outside shot is very smooth and he’s able to get his shots off quickly. His long arms also cause problems for the opposing team in Sultan’s tough 2/3 zone.
For the semi-finals round for district 2, #1 seed Kings HS cruised by #4 Cedar Park Christian, 76-41. #3 Seattle Academy upsets #2 Overlake 69-58 to advance to the district title game against Kings HS. The losing teams advance to a loser out 3rd place game, where the winner advances to the District 1/2 cross-over. In the district title game, #1 Kings HS was able to come out on top beating #3 Seattle Academy, 72-62.
Cam Hiatt– 6’4” 2025 G Kings HS
Cam is one of the top freshman in the whole state, and he’s been proving that when the season is on the line. He dropped 23 in the district title game, showing off his versatile play all over the court. He knocked down all 9 free throws he took in the game. He’s one of the most polished 2025’s I’ve seen, and I can’t wait to see his future.
Jordan Hansen Jordan Hansen 6'6" | SG King's | 2022 State WA – 6’6” 2022 F Kings HS
The Idaho State commit has been an absolute stud all season long. His 6’6” frame allows him to get rebounds with ease, but his athleticism is where he stands out the most. The big man is able to run the court smoothly, plays defense with active hands/feet, and slams home put back dunks, regularly. The “Emerald Sound Conference Player of The Year” is primed to have another run in the 1A state playoffs.
Sultan will take on LC and Overlake will take on Blaine in the District 1/2 cross-over, which will be featured in part 2. The winners of those games will advance to state.
