Jasper over Reitz
Last night saw the Jasper Wildcats go on the road to snag the victory over the Evansville Reitz Panthers 48-37. This was one of my games to watch for in my “3 For 3: Week 7” article this week and Jasper really made me eat my words as I had Reitz winning here. It was a fight of a game with 2022 PG Carter Mundy having a game high 21 pts. Other notable performances from Jasper came from seniors Connor Foley with 11 pts and Tanner Erny with 8 pts. On the Reitz side, they were led by Gavin Schippert Gavin Schippert 6'6" | PF Evansville Reitz | 2022 State IN with a 17 point, 11 rebound double-double. With the win, Jasper moves to 8-1 and take full control of the SIAC. Without question, the Jasper team is good and underrated at the 4A level.
Raasch Double-Double
In a very good road win, the 3A NorthWood Panthers went on the road to beat the 4A Columbia City Eagles 47-41. The star of the game came from 2023 W Ian Raasch who dropped a 14 point, 11 rebound double-double. Raasch is an under-the-radar 2023 that is having a very good year so far. NorthWood also had good showing from Cade Brenner Cade Brenner 6'3" | SG NorthWood | 2023 State IN with 12 pts and 7 rbs. On the Columbia City side, Andrew Hedrick led the Eagles with 14 pts. NorthWood now stands at an impressive 11-1 with a trip to Wawasee coming up on 1/7. Columbia City, now 8-2, will host Belmont next on 1/8.
Tindley Continues To Roll
In a beatdown of a game, Indianapolis Tindley continued to roll as they beat Heritage Christian 70-48. 6’6 C Aaron Humphrey Aaron Humphrey 6'6" | PF Indianapolis Tindley | 2022 State IN led the way for Tindley with 22 pts. Arlondo Hall Arlondo Hall 5'8" | PG Tindley | 2023 State IN had 17 pts and Jayden Pinkston Jayden Pinkston 6'6" | PF Southport | 2023 State IN had 11 pts. That is now 4 straight wins for the Tigers which also includes wins over Indiana Math & Science, Lawrence North, and Decatur Central. The win streak will probably extend to 5 as they travel to Victory College Prep, who are 1-10, on 1/7. This Tindely team is on fire!
