What players had standout weekends and joined The Weekend Elite? Here is our set of players from around the state of Minnesota!

[player_tooltip player_id="850720" first="Donald" last="Ferguson"] of St. Cloud Tech (senior guard). One of the sweetest touches in the state of Minnesota belongs to Ferguson. Donald had a huge weekend with Tech beating Willmar and Bemidji which means Tech has won four of their last five games. Ferguson had 31 points against Willmar and then when to Bemidji and put up an unstoppable 40 points with eight boards. Even more important, Tech is finding a grove and has improved to 5-4.

[player_tooltip player_id="754315" first="Eli" last="King"] of Caledonia (senior guard). I am keeping most of the Rochester Hoops Challenge top performers in those related articles but Eli was so dominant against a good Byron team that I needed to get his name in this article as well. He scored 28 points on 11 of 17 shooting with eight assists beating a pretty good Byron team in a blowout. King is fully healthy, he looks to have his full agility, and the state needs to be on notice that he is pushing for Player of the Year awards.

[player_tooltip player_id="958716" first="Sebastian" last="Loder"] of Orono. Orono earned a big win over BSM and a big piece of that was the 22 point, 11 rebound, 5 assist, and three steal game from Loder. Orono is a top ten Class AAA team with a lot of guards and Loder has been huge. He’s averaging 19 points a game for the Spartans taking huge steps forward as an all around producer as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id="850725" first="Samuel" last="Rensch"] of Hutchinson (senior wing). Sam has given the Hutch program life and he is now starting to stamp his legacy in the record books. He recently became the all time leading rebounder for the Hutch program and the all time scoring spot is within reach as well. Sam is not 100 percent yet but he is close. And Hutch is 7-4 on the season with Sam not at 100 percent.

[player_tooltip player_id="958638" first="Demarion" last="Watson"] of Totino-Grace (senior wing). Watson was a part of a big stage situation and he stepped up with seven threes against Whitney Young. It was another example of Watson playing very well in a big game situation this winter. Hes playing to his potential and this is even better to see because Demarion didn’t have the July he wanted but has bounced back with some huge winter performances through six games. Had 23 in that big game versus Whitney Young.

[player_tooltip player_id="962233" first="Matthew" last="Bothun"] of St. Francis (junior stretch four). Great to see Matthew back on the court and healthy. St. Francis lost to Cambridge but with Matthew now back on the court I felt it was a good time time to remind people of his potential. Matthew scored 37 points with seven boards reminding the north metro that he’s an outstanding 6’8/6’9 junior.

[player_tooltip player_id="962302" first="Keaton" last="Christianson"] of Hermantown (junior guard). Hermantown earned a pair of nice wins over the weekend beating Pine City and Virginia in a Friday/Saturday set. Keaton headlined the feature game with a career high of 31 points. This is a 3.95 student in the classroom and a playmaker on the court.
