The 5th annual Sun Bash at Northside Christian was another big event to round out the year. Some of Florida’s big-name programs and big-time players were in attendance for this event. It was a luxury to watch some of the top talents in Florida compete under one roof. Here are some of my top performers from the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="1065431" first="Michael" last="Kalina"] l 6-1 l North Broward Prep

He is a smooth ballplayer that gets his team involved on both sides of the court. Kalina has a good change of pace in transition. He knows how to get his teammates the ball and knows how to run the floor. His intangibles and IQ are what stood out to me. Kalina is crafty around the rim, displaying a plethora of finishes. Solid around the perimeter but knows how to get in the lane and make plays. Tourney Avg. 12.3 PPG

Eiram Cuevas l 6-3 l SFCA

Cuevas can shoot the ball at a high clip. He had multiple games where he would hit multiple three-pointers with a high degree of difficulty. [player_tooltip player_id="956768" first="Jay" last="White"] and Cuevas make a solid backcourt for SFCA. Cuevas kept his team in contention and showed the heart to compete. Tourney Avg. 13.6 PPG

[player_tooltip player_id="709258" first="Nehemiah" last="Turner"] l 6-8 l Auburndale

Turner is a big body that demands attention. He is a hard worker around the rim. Averaged a double-double for the tourney and was a defensive anchor with his rim protection and rebounding for the Blood Hounds. The tandem of him and [player_tooltip player_id="1060163" first="Kervin" last="Knaggs"] was on full display. This team can be dangerous down the stretch more come playoff time. **Cover Athlete** Tourney Avg. 12.6 PPG, 11 RPG, 2 BPG

[player_tooltip player_id="546242" first="Jalen" last="Gilmore"] l 6-2 l Bishop Snyder

Gilmore’s consistent play during the tournament showed off his floor general skill set. His contributions played a significant role in their win over the #2 ranked team in Florida, Olympia. It’s arguably a game-of-the-year candidate. Gilmore showed up in crunch time. Tourney Avg. 11 PPG
