The Garden State basketball season has been full of excitement and intrigue with multiple surprises across the state. Over a month of the season has passed and only six undefeated teams are left. Here are the key prospects for the Garden State’s undefeated teams.

[player_tooltip player_id="992525" first="Terrell" last="Pitts"], 6’4 SG St. Thomas Aquinas 2023

Senior [player_tooltip player_id="1013044" first="Adam" last="Silas"] has been the engine for the Trojans all season and the addition of Pitts has been huge. The Bishop McDevitt transfer is at his best attacking the basket as he can finish above the rim strong and does not mind drawing contact. Pitts is more than just a slasher as he can also score in the mid-range and can also hit open jumpers from the perimeter. He is a strong rebounder and makes plays on the defensive end. Pitts is an athletic guard prospect who has been a huge part of St. Thomas Aquinas’ success in 2021-22.

[player_tooltip player_id="902756" first="Jadin" last="Collins"], 6’0 PG Rutgers Prep 2023

Collins has been running the show for the Argonauts all season long and is a key reason why they are undefeated. The Roselle Catholic transfer has a tight handle which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and can finish in a variety of ways around the basket. Collins has a nice release on his jumper and is unselfish with the ball in his hands. He has great chemistry with [player_tooltip player_id="901961" first="Ryan" last="Pettit"] and is a playmaker on the defensive end. Collins is a two-way lead guard prospect who will continue to have big games for Rutgers Prep this season.

Semaj Bethea, 6’3 SG St. Augustine 2024

Bethea has been key for the Hermits this season as he has been consistent throughout the year. The 6’3 guard knows how to finish around the basket and does not mind contact. Bethea can also score in the mid-range and is a solid passer. He is an underrated passer and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Bethea is a skilled guard prospect who should continue to make plays for St. Augustine this year.

[player_tooltip player_id="901978" first="Quadir" last="Harrell"], 5’10 PG Bound Brook 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="1150271" first="Jordan" last="Summers"] has been a breakout prospect for the Crusaders, while Harrell has run the offense all season. The 5’10 point guard has a quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and make plays in the lane. Harrell has a good shooting stroke and is capable of getting hot from distance in a hurry. He knows how to get his teammates involved in the half court and plays with quick hands. Harrell recently broke Bound Brook’s all-time scoring record and should continue to be a huge part of the team’s success this season.

Marco Restelli, G Morris Catholic 2023

Restelli has been huge for Morris Catholic this season as he been their top scorer this season. The junior guard is a sniper from deep as he can bury triples in bunches and has deep range. Restelli moves well off the ball, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups. He is an underrated rebounder and knows how to get steals on defense. Restelli’s shooting is something that will continue to carry Morris Catholic throughout year.

Zion Baitey, G/F Morristown 2023

Morristown has jumped out to a 9-0 mark this season and Baitey’s play is a big reason why. The junior wing has a good touch around the basket and is capable of finishing through contact. Baitey can also play on the perimeter as he has an underrated handle and can knock down jumpers from behind the arc. He is a strong rebounder and is an underrated passer. Baitey is a hard-working prospect who should continue to make plays for Morristown this season.
