Grayson New Year Classic: Standout Guards

2022 6-2 G [player_tooltip player_id="1264017" first="Elijah" last="Wiseman"] – Cumberland Christian

Flying under the radar as one of the better guards still available in Georgia, [player_tooltip player_id="1264017" first="Elijah" last="Wiseman"] is a strong combo-guard that can play either on or off the ball. He excels at getting to his spots in the mid-range but also has the strength to get all the way to the rim. Wiseman is a solid rebounder and does a nice job facilitating. D-II programs should have him pretty high on their board.

2024 6-3 SG [player_tooltip player_id="1063051" first="Dimitri" last="Angelakos"] – Etowah

Etowah can space the floor and let it fly with the best of them. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="1063051" first="Dimitri" last="Angelakos"] may have the deepest range out of all the three-point marksmen. Angelakos can fill it up well beyond the arc, forcing defenses to creep further and further out which allows the Etowah guards more space to create off the dribble and kick out to other open shooters.

2022 6-3 SG [player_tooltip player_id="598771" first="Zocko" last="Littleton"] – Osborne

The Appalachian State signee has one of the purest jumpers in the Southeast. He has quality size and length on the perimeter. He has improved as a playmaker and can put the ball on the floor and find the open man. Littleton is an underrated defender that picks up deflections and helps spark fastbreaks.

2024 5-10 G Samuel Thacker – Providence Christian

With his older brother sidelined, Thacker is getting a bigger role in the offense. He’s a good outside shooter that can hit the three consistently. He’s smart with the dribble, able to get all the way to the rim and finish with a floater.

2024 6-3 PG [player_tooltip player_id="996829" first="Kyle" last="Greene"] – Pace Academy

[player_tooltip player_id="996829" first="Kyle" last="Greene"] has picked up where Madison Durr left off in the Sharman White offense. He’s a long guard that is comfortable setting up teammates. He doesn’t force shots and focuses on getting others open looks. He’s an effective playmaker off the dribble and an active on-ball defender.
