Here's a closer look at some of the standouts driving Hoop Atlanta's early season success.    A Second Team All-Region selection for the War Eagles, the sophomore point guard continues to trend upward in the 2028 rankings. Harpring is a smart, tough, and skilled lead guard who can impact the game as both a scorer and facilitator. He takes care of the basketball, makes consistent, reliable decisions, and plays with poise. With good strength, above-average foot speed, and a well-rounded skill set, he projects as one of the state's top lead guards in the 2028 class.     Griffin is a high level scorer with an impressive offensive skill set, highlighted by his ability to consistently knock down shots from beyond the arc. He effectively attacks closeouts to get into the paint and is capable of creating and converting midrange opportunities off the bounce. The junior plays with a good feel for the game, shows solid strength, and can be a secondary ball handler. A high academic prospect, he earned Region Player of the Year honors this season at Starr's Mill.     Scott is a versatile wing who consistently impacts the game on both ends of the floor. He has ideal positional size and stands out defensively with his ability to guard the ball, disrupt passing lanes, and create turnovers. The junior plays with a high motor, attacks the paint with purpose, and is difficult for defenders to contain off the bounce. In addition to his scoring ability, he shows good vision and can provide secondary playmaking from the wing, making him a well rounded and valuable two way prospect.     One of the team's top shot-makers, McDow stands out with a quick, consistent release and the ability to stretch the floor from beyond the arc. He averaged 12.5 points per game while shooting an efficient 42% from three-point range for Chamblee this season. An All-Region selection and high academic prospect, college coaches looking for shooting and floor spacing should take a strong look this season at McDow.     A versatile combo forward with high level length and athleticism, Gadsden impacts the game in multiple ways. He is active on the glass, finishes above the rim, and brings value on the defensive end with the ability to guard multiple positions and alter shots in the lane. Offensively, he can attack the rim off the bounce and shows the ability to score at all three levels. With his physical tools and developing skill set, there is significant upside here.     McCarthy is a skilled wing who can consistently knock down perimeter shots and brings a high motor on both ends of the floor. He has good size and strength for the position, attacks off the bounce, and shows the ability to make plays for others on penetration. A high academic prospect projects as a reliable, versatile backcourt contributor at the next level.     Witzigreuter brings good size and strength to the frontcourt and consistently impacts the game with his physicality and effort. He is a willing rebounder who scores efficiently in the paint, using his frame to carve out position on the block. He competes on the defensive end, plays with a high motor, and provides reliable interior production.
