There are some eye opening stats out there right now. Thought I would give our Prep Hoops audience some examples today. Here is a top ten list!

[player_tooltip player_id="850731" first="Ayden" last="McDonald"] of Hibbing is giving his 8-2 team 30.2 points a game! He’s shooting 56 percent from the floor plus dishing out ten assists a contest with six boards. Huge numbers and his team is winning.

[player_tooltip player_id="1288733" first="Isaac" last="Asuma"] of Cherry, a top ten sophomore in Minnesota, is shooting 50 percent from the arc! Here’s a player that gets all the defensive attention and he is still making half of his threes and scoring 25.4 points a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="962212" first="Boden" last="Kapke"] of Holy Family, this 6’11 Minnesota offered big is scoring 25 points a game with 14.3 rebounds shooting 62 percent of his field goals against a pretty strong schedule for a Class AA program.

Hiawatha Collegiate leads Class AA in scoring at 86 plus points a game and they are 8-2. The best part, nobody averages 20 or more points a game! There is talent and balance there.

[player_tooltip player_id="958817" first="Sam" last="Knowles"] of New Ulm Cathedral is scoring 20 points a game on 74 percent shooting from the field! He’s making nearly 3 of every 4 shots. 14.5 boards a game too.

Minneapolis Edison is 7-1 on the season. Forward [player_tooltip player_id="1142942" first="Micah" last="Young"] has been a great story. He is leading the Minneapolis City Conference in scoring at 29 plus a game and helping his team into the Class AA top ten. Right behind him at 27 a game is [player_tooltip player_id="1288752" first="Liban" last="Tushar"] who is also making a monster impact!

Cass Lake-Bena is ranked second in Class A and is winning games by an average scoring differential of 31.4 point a game!

[player_tooltip player_id="1268457" first="Kyle" last="Haas"] of Prior Lake is one of the state’s best passers that doesn’t talked about. He is averaging seven assists a game creating 15-16 shots a contest (sometimes those creations result in players fouled and going to the foul line).

Princeton wins games by an average score of 84.2 to 62.6. They are ranked fourth in Class AAA, have played some tough teams, and are still taking care of business considerably.

Chanhassen is an improved program who is 5-4 on the season. But I always find it fascinating when a team has a winning record but is out-scored by five or more points on a nightly basis (56 to 61 on average). Winning games you are supposed to.
