Below is a preview of five southeastern Pennsylvania games we are looking forward to watching the week of January 30th, 2022.

Mon., Jan. 31st…Cheltenham at Upper Dublin: Cheltenham has run up a 10-0 record in Suburban One League action behind the play of freshman sensation [player_tooltip player_id="1379428" first="Josiah" last="Hutson"], 3-point sniper Rasheem Dearry and slashing wing Justin Savage. Dearry is 6’3” and in addition to splashing triples, he can score off the bounce. The three headed monster of Colin O’Sullivan, DJ Cerisier and Seaton Kukla lead Upper Dublin (9-2 in SOL play). O’Sullivan (2023) is an elite athlete who is also an all-state quarterback for UD’s football team. On the hoops court O’Sullivan can drain threes and use the dribble to create scoring opportunities for teammates. Earlier this month Cerisier scored 21 points (17 in 2nd half) in a game. He can knock home threes and play in transition.

Wed., Feb. 2nd…Phelps School vs. Hill School: This contest is part of the Pennsylvania Cup showcase event hosted by the Westtown School. College coaches who witness Phelps vs. Hill will be overwhelmed by the amount of talent on the court. The Phelps lineup features 6’5”, shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id="991172" first="Neel" last="Beniwal"] who is one of top uncommitted 2022s in Pennsylvania. Lefty combo-guard SJ Hutchinson is another high level, uncommitted 2022 who has been impressive this season. Big fella [player_tooltip player_id="787337" first="Mitchell" last="Holmes"] is a major DI recruit. Directing the Phelps team is attacking style floor general [player_tooltip player_id="1192711" first="Chas" last="Kelley"] (Boston College commit). Hill’s lineup is equally loaded with talent. Senior Gabe Moss (Delaware commit) is an interior force. Junior [player_tooltip player_id="1202023" first="Augustus" last="Gerhart"] (Holds a couple DI offers.) is developing into a solid stretch-4 prospect. Hill’s guard rotation includes three level scoring machine [player_tooltip player_id="1281962" first="Trey" last="O’Neil"] (2024) and shooting guard prospect [player_tooltip player_id="991318" first="Oliver" last="Hutchinson"] (2022). Hutchinson is lethal from deep.

Fri., Feb 4th…Neumann Goretti at Roman Catholic: Sophomore phenom [player_tooltip player_id="1116063" first="Robert" last="Wright III"] went wild this past summer while running with Team Final EYBL. So, it should not be a surprise that he is averaging 18 ppg. as a starter for the NG Saints. NG is also getting major contributions from high level backcourt prospect [player_tooltip player_id="991316" first="Masud" last="Stewart"] (15 ppg.) and 6’6” wing standout [player_tooltip player_id="1279647" first="Sultan" last="Adewale"] (11ppg. & 5 rpg.; Holds an offer from Memphis.). Of course, Roman has its own trio of amazing players in seniors [player_tooltip player_id="901951" first="Daniel" last="Skillings"] (18 ppg.; Cincinnati commit) and [player_tooltip player_id="991212" first="Khalil" last="Farmer"] (17 ppg.; Hofstra commit) as well as junior [player_tooltip player_id="991334" first="Xzayvier" last="Brown"]. Brown’s (14.4 ppg.) recruiting stock continues to skyrocket and his phone should receive numerous offers in the coming weeks. Be sure to keep an eye on Roman’s Toby Ojukwu (10 ppg.). He is a 2024 comb-guard prospect who is posting a fantastic season.

Fri., Feb. 4th…Sunrise Christian vs. Westtown School: Sunrise Christian (Kansas), the No.1 ranked team in ESPN.com’s national high school Top 25, meets Pennsylvania’s basketball powerhouse in this made for streaming services match-up. Westtown combo guard [player_tooltip player_id="1379563" first="Quin" last="Berger"] (2022) might be the hottest prospect in the state. He recently posted runs of 39 and 26 points. You know his extraordinary teammates well – [player_tooltip player_id="991185" first="Dereck" last="Lively II"] (No. 1 ranked 2022 in PA; McDonald’s AA selection; Duke commit), point guard extraordinaire [player_tooltip player_id="991188" first="Jameel" last="Brown"] (Penn State commit) and sophomore phenom Seyphon Triplett (Holds several DI offers.).
