Enjoy them while you can.
1. Jerry Easter – SG – Emmanuel Christian
I wrote an earlier piece on Easter, the 6’5 guard is a good as advertised, his demeanor and work ethic are what champions are truly made of, he currently has 7 D1 offers, UCLA is the latest team to offer the 2025 Easter. He has a high IQ and the ability to be a game changer during his freshmen season. Easter will put fans in the stands at Emmanuel Christian, they have a really good team that will be a state contender with Easter leading the way. He is worth the price of admission.
2. Antwan West – SG – Toledo Whitmer
West is another head turner, the 6’2 guard who has had Ohio State, and Michigan State attend earlier practices will be a steady force in the TRAC for the next few years. He is a strong heady player who can play through contact and is physical enough to post you up. West has a real good mid-range game and a solid handle. West will continue to expand his game and be a force to deal with, look for him to be a future All Conference TRAC performer.
3. Tylin Patterson – SF – Emmanuel Christian
Patterson is a BIG TIME Stud, he is a two-sport star who made All-Conference in Football. I saw him early this year in a scrimmage vs Toledo St. John’s and I can tell you there are not many athletes in the state that are better, he has tremendous athleticism, He can dunk it at will, he can rebound the ball, and can all protect the rim with his incredible leaping ability. He is an imposing 6’3 player that will play at the next level in either Basketball of Football! Patterson has a high motor and a relentless will to win!
4. Makhi Leach – SG – Central Catholic
I got a chance to stop in at Central Catholic and watch their practice, and got a first hand glimpse at Makhi. He is a 6’2, long, athletic guard who will put teams on notice this season and will be an impact player on this talented CCHS team. He has good range on his jump shot, he has a quick first step that allows him to get into the lane. Leach has a long wingspan that will help him on the defensive end and will cause havoc for opponents. Keep his name on your board, he has a bright future at CCHS.
5. Jameson Heck – PG – St. Francis De Sales
Heck is one of the hardest workers I have seen personally, he played AAU for Hopson Elite and you can see the fire in his eyes, despite his 5’7 frame, he is one of the fiercest competitor’s I have seen. There are taller, stronger players on this list, but Heck will go toe to toe with them on work ethic. Heck is the type of player that will finish a game and stay hours afterwards to get in extra shots, he is constantly working on his game. His next four years of basketball will be worth the watch.
