The first week of KHSAA basketball is in the books. Here’s a look at the nominees for Player of the Week. These are players who were nominated via Twitter. The poll ends at noon eastern on Friday. Nominations are listed in the order they were received.

DeJohn Blunt DeJohn Blunt 6'4" | CG Great Crossing | 2023 MD , Bourbon County – Blunt had 22 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds for Bourbon County.

Trent Hinkle Trent Hinkle 5'11" | PG Western | 2023 State KY , Western – The Junior guard led Western to a 3-0 start with 10 points in the first game, 24 points and 5 assists the second game and 17 points, 7 assists and 2 steals in the third game of the week.

Kam Jones Kam Jones 6'1" | CG Central | 2022 State KY , Central – The Senior had 8 points and 7 rebounds against Saint Xavier and 29 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists against Waggener. Central split the two games, going 1-1.

Dashawn Hall Dashawn Hall 6'3" | SG Marion C. Moore | 2024 State KY , Atherton – Against Portland Christian, he had 15 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds a steal and a block. Against Brown he had 7 points and 6 rebounds.

Micah Engle Micah Engle 6'5" | PG Lynn Camp | 2022 KY , Lynn Camp – Had 35 points and 8 rebounds on 12-17 shooting in a win over Somerset Christian School.

Landen Hamilton Landen Hamilton 5'11" | CG Conner | 2023 State KY , Conner – In two wins, the Junior averaged 23 points and 4 rebounds and hit a game winning half court shot.

Hayden Blakeman Hayden Blakeman 6'5" | SF Green County | 2025 State KY , Green County – Against Burgin, he had 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Against Adair County he had 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Against Pulaski Southwestern, he scored 29 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and added 3 assists and 3 blocks.

Brant Smithers Brant Smithers 6'1" | CG Walton-Verona | 2022 State KY , Walton-Verona – In 3 games, he averaged 26 points and 4 rebounds with shooting splits of 48-53-83.

Cam Christy Cam Christy 6'4" | CG Walton Verona | 2022 State KY , Walton-Verona – In 3 wins, he averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds and shot 54% overall.

Zac Cox Zac Cox 5'11" | SG Franklin County | 2023 State KY , Franklin County – Against Paris, he had 22 points and 7 rebounds. Against Lexington Catholic he had 12 points and 3 rebounds then finished with 40 points and 3 rebounds against Nelson County.

Terrell Henry Terrell Henry 6'2" | SF Mason County | 2023 State KY , Mason County – 25 points and 4 rebounds against Rowan County and 30 points and 12 rebounds against Fleming County.

Aden Barnett Aden Barnett 6'1" | SG Magoffin County | 2024 State KY , Magoffin County – 37 points in a win against Pike Central and 27 points in a loss to Floyd Central.

Cade Stinnett Cade Stinnett 6'3" | SG Greenwood | 2022 State KY , Greenwood – Against Owensboro Catholic he had 25 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds. Against North Laurel he had 35 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists then 22 points and 7 rebounds against Scott County. Shooting 70% from the field this season.

Gabe Sisk Gabe Sisk 6'5" | SG Ballard | 2023 #232 Nation CA-N , Ballard – Had 24 points in a 53 point win over Seneca, 26 in a loss to Prolific Prep and 25 points in a 29 point win over Ashland.

Vince Dawson Vince Dawson 6'6" | SF Great Crossing | 2025 State #327 Nation KY , Great Crossing – Averaged 18.3 points per game on 23-35 shooting and added 4 rebounds per game for 3-0 Great Crossing.
