Jayden Moore of Hopkins (8th Grade). Moore’s quickness is at another level. The quick hands poking the ball away and the speedy help overs led to turnovers for Osseo. Moore’s push up the floor or the quickness on the corner turn had some veteran guards actually looking like old men. The shooting touch looked good, his placement on deliveries was my favorite part until down the stretch Moore was a big reason Hopkins closed the game out showing he’s a clutch player as well. Let me say that again, an 8th grader closed out a game against a big school top ten veteran team with clutch plays (with the pass off the backboard, assist to Hoffman, one handed attack finish tin the final minute, and And1 transition finish). It’s what makes him such a rare talent
Chiang Ring Chiang Ring 6'8" | C Park Center | 2024 State #276 Nation MN of Minneapolis South (Sophomore). Ring’s timing as a shot blocker is moving into that elite category and what’s really interesting is that he can get off the floor quickly and get hands on balls with either hand, and often several feet away from his location. His quick leap and second bounce are better than I remembered and Ring’s movement off the ball to finish from guard penetration is high quality. Had a double-double against Lakeville North.
Jack Robison Jack Robison 6'7" | SF Lakeville North | 2024 State #158 Nation MN of Lakeville North (Sophomore). There are things that I feel were just expected from Jack on first impression: great size at the wing, the lefty touch is pretty, and he can stretch the defense being 6’6/6’7 with skill. As you watch Jack more and more there are things that start sticking out even more. For example Robison is a trusted player bringing the ball up the floor. His level of confidence and skill allow him to be a ball handler. Robison is also an excellent passer. His work with Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN in high/low situations as well as perimeter passing to cutters is outstanding. Robison also has some fight, battle to him that you notice as games move on. Jack had 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in a total team effort as the Panthers beat Minneapolis South.
Jerome Williams Jr Jerome Williams Jr 6'0" | PG Rock Creek Christian Academy | 2024 MD of Minneapolis South (Sophomore). Jerome didn’t have his best scoring game in terms of finishing (but still had a dozen points) but his creations for others was at it’s usual high level. There were leads hitting players in stride off his attacks that were superb and a couple passes from difficult angles that Williams made perfectly via the bounce pass. Love his creative delivery.
