Due to the depth of talent in the class, we wanted to run it back today highlighting five more freshman who are making significant varsity contributions to begin the season. Let’s dive on in.
Camden Craig Camden Craig 6'4" | SF Switzerland County | 2025 State IN (Switzerland County H.S. 2025)
One of the leading scorers in the entire state regardless of class, this 6’4″ forward has quickly made a name for himself at the varsity level. Craig is averaging 25.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game to lead Switzerland County to a 3-2 start to the season. He already has a pair of 30-point performances including a high of 36. He will be one to watch going forward in southern Indiana.
Chase Konieczny Chase Konieczny 6'4" | SG South Bend Saint Joseph | 2025 State #277 Nation IN (South Bend St. Joseph H.S. 2025)
A high scoring wing out of South Bend, this Konieczny is making a name for himself after a spectacular career from older brother J.R. led him to Notre Dame. Chase is 6’4″ and incredibly skilled with the ability to score from all three levels. In just his third high school game Konieczny went for 30 points and has a couple of other 20-point games under his belt as well. Definitely a name to remember up in the northern part of the state.
Joshua Renfro Joshua Renfro 6'2" | SG Christian Academy | 2025 State IN (Christian Academy 2025)
This athletic, high-scoring guard is off to a great start to his high school career. Renfro is averaging 14.7 points through his first three games and averages a team-best 3 steals per game as well. Christian Academy is back in action Friday night against South Central (Elizabeth) and has a couple of holiday tournaments at Henryville and Southridge to play in if you are wanting to get out and see this exciting freshman playmaker.
Shane Sims Shane Sims 6'3" | PG Evansville Harrison | 2025 State IN (Evansville Harrison H.S. 2025)
Sims has wasted no time showing that he is one of the better shooters in the Evansville area as a freshman. The 6’3″ guard is shooting 41% from beyond the arc through five games and averaging 10.2 points per game which is second on Harrison’s team. He will be one to follow coming out of southern Indiana over the next several years. Anxious to make an Evansville trip to see him play this season.
Jaymen Townsend Jaymen Townsend 6'6" | SF Marion | 2025 State #248 Nation IN (Marion H.S. 2025)
Townsend has quickly proven himself at the varsity level for the Giants after scoring 16 points against Hamilton Southeastern and then a team-high 19 points in his first ever NCC game defeating defeating Richmond. The 6’5″ freshman wing is averaging 11.4 points per game for this 2-3 Marian squad. His athleticism and physicality at his age are very, very impressive.
