With so many teams and so much high level talent, I have broken down the standouts into different regions and parts within the regions to make following easier.
We take a look at part two of the standouts in New England, which featured tons of teams mostly from the NEPSAC.

Chase Ross Chase Ross 6'5" | SG Cushing Academy | 2022 State NLG | 6’4” WG | Cushing 2022
Cushing only played one game in the event, beating a good Massanutten team in a very close game, but it’s easy to see why Ross is considered an elite level prospect and is committed to play his college ball with Shaka Smart at Marquette. The 6’4” shooting guard has a terrific frame and is a natural and explosive athlete, he can knock down shots from multiple levels with consistency and the game just seems to come very naturally to him. He made plays on both ends of the floor and scored 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field in their win.
Luke McEldon | 6’8” PF | Cushing 2023
McEldon is an emerging big on the east coast that’s from the DMV area but went to Cushing to reclassify to the 2023 class, and he showed why he’s seeing more and more division one recruitment at the mid and high major level. He’s a throwback style big that is strong in the paint and has good footwork, he has a good motor on the glass on both ends and he has the ability to score it over his shoulder and in face up situations. He finished 11 points and 9 rebounds in their win.
Adrian Uchidiuno | 6’4” G | Cushing 2023
Uchidiuno was the x-factor in their win over Massanutten, as he came with great energy on both ends of the floor and the 6’4” guard made big plays down the stretch for them. It was my first time seeing him, but I was very intrigued with his length and athleticism as well as his motor on the defensive end and the way he shot the basketball from deep. He finished with 17 points, scoring multiple clutch buckets down the stretch and going 3-for-6 from deep.
Rowan Brumbaugh Rowan Brumbaugh 6'4" | PG Northfield Mount Hermon | 2022 State #140 Nation NLG | 6’3” PG | Northfield Mount Hermon 2022
The argument could be made that Brumbaugh was the most impressive player at his role this weekend, as the Northwestern commit did what he does best as he ran the show to perfection for NMH leading them to a 2-0 record with wins over IMG and Mt. Zion. Brumbaugh has an uncanny feel for the game and is excellent at getting his team into sets and making the sets very successful, he controls the tempo and has a fantastic IQ and he’s skilled as both a scorer and a distributor. He finished the event averaging 16.5 points, 7 rebounds and 6.5 assists while only turning the ball over 4 times as the primary ball handler.
Avery Brown Avery Brown 6'3" | PG Northfield Mount Hermon | 2022 State #103 Nation NLG | 6’3” WG | Northfield Mount Hermon 2022
Brown showed why he’s one of the best available two guards in the country, as he was phenomenal in both wins, but particularly in their win over IMG. He’s a super quick and shifty guard who can play on or off the basketball, he is an excellent defender both on the basketball and in help side and he still has room to polish offensively but has all the athletic tools to reach a high ceiling. He finished the event averaging 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
Luke Hunger Luke Hunger 6'10" | C Northfield Mount Hermon | 2022 State NLG | 6’9” C | Northfield Mount Hermon 2022
Hunger is going to be teammates with Brumbaugh at Northwestern next year, and he’s not only a great fit for their system but also can flat out play and impact the game in so many different ways. He’s a very big and skilled post who can play in the paint or on the perimeter, he’s a excellent shooter that can space the floor and is a good passer on the perimeter but what’s really surprising is that with his frame he’s very mobile and more explosive than you’d think. He was highly productive, going for a 23 point and 21 rebound double-double in their win over IMG and 13 points and 10 rebounds in their win over Mt. Zion.
Blair Thompson Blair Thompson 6'8" | SG Northfield Mount Hermon | 2022 State NLG | 6’3” WG | Northfield Mount Hermon 2022
Thompson is going to be the x-factor for NMH this year as they’re one of the favorites in the NEPSAC AAA division and possibly for a national championship too, and he brings it on both ends of the floor and plays with a terrific motor. At 6’3” he has great length and uses it defensively to make plays, he can make shots from deep and finish at and above the rim and he makes the hustle plays for his team too. The Columba commit had 20 points and 7 rebounds in their win over Mt. Zion on Sunday.
