The NCISAA 2021-22 season is finally upon us. Here's a look at the top NCISAA 1A frontcourts to keep an eye on.

Greenfield: [player_tooltip player_id="848068" first="Aaron" last="Murphy"] (Queens Commit) & [player_tooltip player_id="1076333" first="Hampton" last="Evans"] (2024)

Murphy and Evans are quite the 1-2 punch in the frontcourt for Greenfield School. Evans plays a physical brand of basketball around the rim and cleans up the glass when he’s not looking to score. Murphy is a versatile forward at 6-foot-5 that can operate inside and out with his ability. He’ll be another forward to watch for the Knights in 2021-22.

Crossroads Christian: [player_tooltip player_id="1154649" first="John" last="Henderson"] & [player_tooltip player_id="1059714" first="D’Markus" last="Tucker"] (2023s)

Henderson and Tucker are two underrated prospects in NC’s 2023 class joining the Crossroads Christian rotation in 2021-22. Henderson is a versatile forward at 6-foot-5 with a ton of promise as a scorer on all three levels. He’s one prospect to keep an eye on along with [player_tooltip player_id="1059714" first="D’Markus" last="Tucker"]. Tucker is an underrated rebounder and uses his 6-foot-3 frame well to be a presence in the paint. He’s another forward with versatility to keep an eye on.

Grace Christian (Sanford): [player_tooltip player_id="1120968" first="Ma’Kyi" last="Butler"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1169524" first="Derius" last="Hodges"] (2023s)

Butler is a 6-foot-6 forward that will have some help on the interior in 2021-22 with the arrival of [player_tooltip player_id="1169524" first="Derius" last="Hodges"]. He’s a sizeable big man that can rebound in bunches and has efficiency around the rim as a paint presence. Hodges is an emerging name in the frontcourt at 6-foot-8 with potential as a rim runner and rim protector. He’s another name to keep an eye on in Grace Christian’s rotation.

United Faith Christian: [player_tooltip player_id="1204932" first="Alex" last="Bates"] & Camyl Witherspoon (2023s)

Bates is a versatile 6-foot-4 prospect that can operate on the wing and give United Faith Christian some depth after joining the rotation from Weddington. He’s got the ability to play multiple roles on the floor and should boost the rebounding for UFCA. Witherspoon is an emerging 6-foot-8 forward to keep an eye on in the UFCA rotation. He played sparingly this past season for Ardrey Kell with room to carve out a role for himself in the frontcourt.

Lake Norman Christian: [player_tooltip player_id="577844" first="Shane" last="Fernald"] & [player_tooltip player_id="1063201" first="Tyrone" last="Barbee"] (2022)

Fernald and Barbee are two of the more underrated forwards in NC’s 2022 class. Fernald has the ability to score in a variety of ways and plays an unselfish brand of basketball. He’s due to lead the way for them on the interior and on the wing. Barbee is an underrated paint presence with good length and instincts as a scorer and rebounder in the paint. Look for these two prospects to see their recruitment blow up in 2021-22 with Lake Norman Christian.
