2023 Rankings: Top Shooting Guards

<p>The Junior class rankings have expanded all the way out to nearly 130 players already. This is possibly the best class of prospects since Prep Hoops Kentucky launched. A dozen prospects already have D1 offers and twice that many could have D1 offers a year from now. Here’s a look at the best shooting guards in the updated 2023 Rankings.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="692930" first="Jerone" last="Morton"], George Rogers Clark - One of the top guards in 2022 before a reclass to 2023, Jerone has an offer from EKU and should be on the radar for D1 schools across the state and in the region. The talented lefty is skilled and plays really hard. Look for him to try to lift GRC back to Rupp in March.</p>
<p><span style="font-size: 1rem;">[player_tooltip player_id="932781" first="Cam" last="McClain"], Trinity - Cameron is a high IQ guard who can play on or off the ball but is more dangerous off it. The 6'3 guard is able to use his quick first step to get past defenders and get to the rim or catch and shoot from distance on the offensive end. McClain is also capable of guarding multiple positions on defense,</span></p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1124021" first="Gerard" last="Thomas"], Henderson County - A true bully guard who uses his strength to muscle his way to the rim and finish, Thomas reminds me of a young Isaiah Briscoe. Gerard has a high skill level and plays with a chip on his shoulder. He should be a top player in the second region this season.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="932776" first="Kenyata" last="Carbon"], Owensboro - One of the best players in the 3rd region, Carbon is expected to be a football player at the next level but he should have opportunities on the court as well. Kenyata is tough and plays hard. He'll be counted on to help get Owensboro back to the Sweet Sixteen.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="932779" first="Aydan" last="Hamilton"], Campbell County - Already committed to Kentucky for baseball, Aydan is a talented basketball player as well. One of the best players for Campbell over the last few seasons, Hamilton has good size and athleticism as a big guard who excels at attacking the rim but is a more than capable shooter from range too.</p>
