This year one of the most experienced players in the state will undoubtedly be [player_tooltip player_id="857350" first="Keshav" last="Anand"]. The solid 6-foot-4, 190-pound swingman is now a senior at Westview and he knows he will have an elevated role with the Wildcats. Anand spent his summer working hard on his game and playing high-level club basketball, with the hopes of elevating himself to help not only Westview but help him pursue playing at the college level.

Over the summer months Anand worked out and played with International Elite and it was an experience he greatly appreciated.

"Playing with International Elite definitely got me a lot better, being around the kids who were playing there and the coaches as well," Anand said. "They were all about player development so I felt that I really grew. I worked on my shot, my ball-handling, and my body, being able to move better, my conditioning, and jumping higher."

With the team, Anand traveled to a number of tournaments around the country and played against some very tough teams. The swingman settled into a role with the squad and felt he was able to show what he is capable of doing.

"I feel like I played a lot to my strengths," Anand said. "One of my biggest strengths is shooting and I was a shooter on the team with pull-ups, three-pointers - that’s what I did."

One of Anand’s goals is to play at the college level. He provided an update on where things currently stand in terms of his college recruitment.

"There aren’t any specific schools but I’m on some lists, so this senior year I’m hoping to get more interest," Anand said. "A couple of things I’m looking for (in a college) are a good coaching staff, people that I get along with, and something that’s close to home as well. Maybe something that’s within an hour - that’s something big for me as well. I’m open to all options right now."

A solid all-around player who has a smooth lefty stroke out past the three-point line, Anand is a high-academic student with a GPA just short of the 4.0 mark. He has largely been a role player the past three years but knows it’s now his turn to step up and he’s ready for the challenges both on and off the court.

"It’s definitely going to be my job as a leader - it’s going to be my fourth year on varsity," Anand said. "So I’m going to lead everybody and hopefully we’ll have the best season that we can have and a winning season overall."

Anand currently ranks as the #47 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 rankings.
