Preseason Player of the Year: 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158468" first="Ethan" last="Davis"], Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont

The Rockets finished just 6-6 in league play last year but may be the team to beat in the conference this season. Davis is a major reason why. The 6-7 big man can impact the game on both ends of the floor with his size, athleticism, and talent.

First Team

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158468" first="Ethan" last="Davis"], Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont: 16.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.3 blocks, 58.8 FG%

A 6-7 senior, Davis was dominant last season, averaging a double-double while shooting nearly 59% from the field. He crashes the glass hard on both ends of the floor (4.0 offensive rebounds, 6.1 defensive), and can protect the rim.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1171680" first="Brooks" last="Moore"], Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont: 13.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.5 steals, 46.7 FG%

Moore is an athletic 6-5 combo forward who put together a really strong freshman year for the Rockets last season and is part of a loaded 2024 class at EBF. He runs the floor and finishes above the rim, rebounds, and can shoot it a bit. He could become the best player in the league this season.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962691" first="Dalton" last="Reeves"], Davis County: 19.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 51.4 FG%

The leading returning scorer in the league, Reeves is an efficient 6-3 forward who does a majority of his damage inside the arc, but he can step out and knock down an occasional 3 as well.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1167695" first="Drew" last="Chance"], Albia: 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 55.5 FG%

Chance, a 6-4 forward, was arguably the best player on a loaded Albia team last season. He’s an active big man with great hands, footwork, and touch around the bucket. He’s working to extend his range, and can knock down 15-foot jumpers with some regularity. If he can stretch that out to the arc, he could become a major matchup problem in the SCC.

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1171696" first="Jack" last="Cooley"], Clarke: 15.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.6 steals, 2.4 blocks, 48.3 FG%

Another wing who put together a really strong freshman year, Cooley was dominant on both ends of the floor for Clarke last season, averaging over 15 points and compiling 4.0 "stocks" a game. He’s an athletic combo forward who gets to the rim and finishes through contact.
