Overtime Sports has been bringing together some of the state’s top high school programs for their Saturday fall league in Mequon, and these are eight of the top performers that I watched play during week three!

[player_tooltip player_id="761401" first="Marshawn" last="Robinson"] (6’3 2022 G, Waukesha South)- The two-way efforts of [player_tooltip player_id="761401" first="Marshawn" last="Robinson"] helped lead Waukesha South to a 2-0 record on the day. Though usually not much of a scorer, Marshawn looked more aggressive than ever attacking the basket or searching for open jumpers off the dribble or catch. His off-ball movement helped lead to a few wide open looks around the basket, and he was also passing and relocating to get some open looks beyond the arc. Defensively he’s a menace on the ball with his long arms and ability to sit deep in a stance and move his feet for the length of the floor. The St. Leo commit looks ready to lead a dangerous backcourt this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1089679" first="Nas" last="Beamon"] (6’2 2024 G, Milwaukee Academy of Science)- It’s not always pretty, but [player_tooltip player_id="1089679" first="Nas" last="Beamon"] simply puts points on the board every time he steps on the floor. Even as an underclassman he has the ability to bully other guards around the rim, and that makes him a high percentage finisher in the paint. We saw him fighting against size for offensive rebounds, and often ending up with the ball under the basket for a second chance bucket. With the ball in his hands he plays with nice change of direction allowing him to quickly switch hands and attack the other side of the basket, while on the defensive end he brings some intensity to the floor for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id="1142121" first="Tim" last="Franks"] (6’4 2024 SG, Homestead)- Franks and Homestead got off to a slow start in the first half, but he really started to take over in the second half. At 6’4 he has good positional size, and proved to be a major threat from beyond the arc. Shot after shot just kept falling for [player_tooltip player_id="1142121" first="Tim" last="Franks"] as he kept his team neck and neck with a tough Kingdom Prep squad. When attacking the basket he plays with patience, and has the footwork to stop on two feet and create a clean look with some pivots in the lane. Also showed finishing ability with either hand around the rim. Highly skilled prospect with a lot of potential moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="1129756" first="Seth" last="Trimble"] (6’2 2022 PG, Menomonee Falls)- Seth once again proved why he’s one of the nation’s premier point guard prospects. In a highly anticipated matchup, Trimble took the game over with a variety of impressive buckets and an alley-oop dunk that shut the gym down. His poise and chance of speed make him nearly impossible to guard 1v1 at the high school level, as he can create separation against anyone you throw at him. Even when defenders were able to stay close, his elevation made it nearly impossible to contest his jumper when he pulled up. On the defensive end he makes it look effortless sticking to skilled guards, while also being able to move his feet and protect the rim as a help-side defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="1115915" first="Tyran" last="Cook"] (6’1 2023 CG, Waukesha South)- Another member of a tough backcourt for Waukesha South, Tyran burst onto the scene last year as a sophomore and shows no signs of slowing down. In two games on Saturday he was tough to stop from getting to the basket, and showed a crafty lay-up package to convert some tough finishes in traffic. He keeps a low center of gravity to come off screens tight or change directions quickly to shake his defender, and then has the strength to absorb some contact and finish at the rim. Like how he gets after it defensively as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1043750" first="Jamariea" last="Dalton"] (6’2 2023 G, Fond du Lac)- One of the top 2023 guard prospects in Wisconsin, Jay Dalton is an explosive athlete that can simply glide to the rim. He’s so smooth with the ball in his hands and can get up to full speed in the blink of an eye. Once he turns the corner and has a clear path to the rim, there’s not much that’s going to stop him from scoring. Against Milwaukee Academy of Science he had a handful of and-ones that really showed his ability to keep his balance in air despite facing contact, and finish with touch.

Qi’andre Washington (6’1 2023 PG, Kingdom Prep)- Just like last week, Washington once again finds himself on the top performers list. He’s a high energy defender who’s constantly applying ball pressure and capable of forcing 2-3 turnovers just about every game. Offensively he has the frame to overpower other guards on his way to the rim, as he gets them on his hip and it’s pretty much over from there as he extends to finish around the rim. Showed some explosiveness off two feet to go intro contact and hang in the air to finish. Has been one of the more impressive guards I’ve seen this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="1026710" first="Daniel" last="Robinson"] (6’2 2023 CG, Waukesha South)- Yet another backcourt standout from Waukesha South, Daniel can put points on the board just about as quick as any other guard in the 2023 class. He can take games over with solo scoring stretches as he’s capable of getting to the rim and finishing with either hand. Defensively he’s a high ball pressure player who we saw picking up full court and turning his man multiple times to really delay the opposing teams’ offense. He also showed quick hands to poke the ball free from his man, and wasn’t afraid to get on the floor and fight for loose balls.
