Steven Clay Steven Clay 6'5" | SG Menomonee Falls | 2022 State #193 Nation WI (6’5 2022 W, Menomonee Falls)- Clay was a one man scoring machine in the third place game, as Waukesha South just didn’t have an answer for his offensive arsenal. He was able to get a head of steam going as he handled the ball up the floor, and once he gets up to speed defenders are at his mercy as he can quickly shifty direction and go up with either hand to finish at the rim. Clay excels at extending the ball out and going under opposing shot blockers’ arms to finish with touch. The outside shot was also falling at a high rate as he used his quick release and size to get off shots over defenders, and at times even hitting some while double teamed. Although his team ultimately lost, it was an impressive effort by Clay to keep them in the game until the end.
Daniel Robinson Daniel Robinson 6'2" | CG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI (6’2 2023 CG, Waukesha South)- Over the summer Daniel proved to be one of the most dangerous scoring guards in the 2023 class, and he put his full arsenal on display over the weekend. He can score in a variety of ways, and showed off his pull-up jumper from mid-range, footwork in the post against guards his size or smaller, and his ability to hang in the air for tough finishes around the rim. Daniel is constantly putting in effort defensively and loves jumping passing lanes to force turnovers as he knows both himself and his teammates are dangerous out in transition. Showed good shot selection that allowed him to put up strong scoring numbers without taking away tons of looks from his teammates.
Solomon Garrison Solomon Garrison 5'10" | PG Homestead | 2023 State WI (5’9 2023 PG, Homestead)- Love the way that Solomon runs the offense for Homestead. He’s not the type of point guard to put up double figure scoring numbers consistently, but his passing ability creates a ton of open looks for his teammates. Solomon can fly around the floor with the ball in his hands, and gets into dangerous spots in the paint to draw in the help defender before locating an open teammate. He finds his teammates with a variety of passes, and even running full speed he’s able to put the ball right in the hands to either lead his man to the hoop or allow them to easily get into their shooting form. Also showed some touch with a mid-range jumper and finish at the rim.
Tayshawn Bridges Tayshawn Bridges 6'2" | CG Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2024 #86 Nation GA (6’2 2024 G, Milwaukee Academy of Science)- M.A.S. took home the league title, and Tayshawn was aggressive getting to the basket to put points on the board. He’s such a physical player who isn’t afraid of contact inside, which allows him to either draw fouls and make constant trips to the free throw line, or use his strength to keep his balance in the air for tough finishes. In both games over the weekend he was locked in on his on-ball defense, and when he has that type of focus there aren’t many players in the state that can score on him as he sits deep in a stance and moves his feet so quick to keep his man in front.
Greg Kemp Greg Kemp 6'4" | PF Menomonee Falls | 2022 State WI (6’4 2022 PF, Menomonee Falls)- Falls was without Seth Trimble Seth Trimble 6'3" | PG Menomonee Falls | 2022 State #50 Nation WI on the day, and at times Greg Kemp Greg Kemp 6'4" | PF Menomonee Falls | 2022 State WI even stepped up to handle to ball for his team as he’s an experienced and reliable player in that program. At 6’4 he handled it well and was able to beat his initial defender off the dribble to makes plays attacking the basket. Had a strong first half getting to the rim and using his size and touch to finish inside. Won’t be a big time scorer this winter but works hard defending the paint and is a major presence on the glass.
Tyran Cook Tyran Cook 6'1" | SG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI (6’2 2023 CG, Waukesha South)- It’s easy to see how Tyran was able to lead Waukesha South in scoring as a sophomore, as the explosive guard is so tough to stop once he gets into a rhythm. He proved to be an above-the-rim threat in transition, as he can elevate off one foot and take off to finish with authority. In the half-court he can come off screens tight and attack the basket, but he also showed he can stop on a dime and elevate to get off a pull-up jumper. Defensively his quickness allows him to make plays on the ball or by jumping passing lanes to get out into the open floor.
Amare Jackson (6’ 2025 G, Milwaukee Academy of Science)- Don’t have an official height for Amare, but he looks to be at least 6’ heading into his freshman season. Don’t let the size and youth fool you though, as he’s an explosive athlete who showed he can get up and throw down over the top of defenders in transition. His team has a lot of talent so he won’t always get a ton of touches, but proved he can get to the rim and finish, and also use that athleticism to defend against upperclassmen. Blocked a few shots and finished efficiently inside for the league champions.
