With the NCISAA High School Basketball season set to kick off in November, here’s an early look at some teams and prospects to keep an eye on at the 3A level.

Asheville Christian Academy:

[player_tooltip player_id="848059" first="DeAnte" last="Green"] (Florida State) headlines a squad that shouldn’t be short on depth with Chris Harris, [player_tooltip player_id="1029123" first="Dante" last="Oliver"], [player_tooltip player_id="1126212" first="Casian" last="Richard"], [player_tooltip player_id="944965" first="James" last="Wilkins III"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1315993" first="Dyllan" last="Barnwell"] in the rotation. They’re a well-coached group that plays team-ball on both ends of the floor to get things done.

Concord Academy:

[player_tooltip player_id="932138" first="Logan" last="Threatt"] leads the way with a group of 2023s in tow in [player_tooltip player_id="1076354" first="Langston" last="Boyd"], [player_tooltip player_id="947095" first="Isaiah" last="Tate"], [player_tooltip player_id="1315994" first="Noah" last="van Bibber"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1315995" first="Sergej" last="Cvetkovic"]. After going 21-8 in 2020-21, they’ll look to win a lot more games with more talent in the rotation to work with. Threat will have plenty to work with in the backcourt with Boyd’s ability to attack the rim and van Bibber’s light’s out shooting ability.

GRACE Christian School (Raleigh):

[player_tooltip player_id="1046018" first="Gary" last="Williams II"] should be the offensive leader with his ability to attack the rim and shoot the 3-ball. [player_tooltip player_id="1076365" first="Steven" last="McLeod"], [player_tooltip player_id="848079" first="KJ" last="Keatts"], [player_tooltip player_id="838052" first="Yashiya" last="Crespin"] and [player_tooltip player_id="932084" first="Cooper" last="Land"] are also key returners for a well-coached group. Davis Lyons, [player_tooltip player_id="815617" first="Julien" last="King"], [player_tooltip player_id="1315996" first="Omar" last="Banks Jr"], [player_tooltip player_id="854906" first="Quasim" last="Oden"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1220008" first="Myles" last="Pettis"] are key newcomers that should make an impact right away.

Forsyth Country Day School:

This squad should turn some heads in 2021-22 with [player_tooltip player_id="997745" first="Iverson" last="King"], [player_tooltip player_id="1273278" first="Sterling" last="Charles Jr"], [player_tooltip player_id="854910" first="Draven" last="Pilson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="854891" first="Enzo" last="Geremski"] as a few early names to know with this squad. They’ve built some chemistry together over the past few months which should carry over into the high school season.

High Point Christian Academy:

Ethan Smith, [player_tooltip player_id="1240916" first="Thomas" last="McIntosh"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1274326" first="Landon" last="Kai Johnson"] will be quite the sizeable names to deal with for this squad. [player_tooltip player_id="1241703" first="Darius" last="Kane"] is a new addition in the backcourt to keep an eye on with this group with his length, athleticism and shooting ability.

Southlake Christian Academy:

7-footer [player_tooltip player_id="1008878" first="Micah" last="Handlogten"] (Marshall) leads the way at the anchor position on a young squad that should also feature 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1241724" first="Maddox" last="Watson"]. Larson Gazzaway is a new face in the 2023 class that should turn heads with his ability to score on all three levels.
