After a weekend off, southeastern Pennsylvania prospects will return to action with their high school teams this Saturday at the East Coast Shootout Showcase. This high caliber event will take place at the Glen Mills School and a number of the top squads from the region are participating.

Below is a preview of five games from the East Coast Shootout Showcase that will feature SEPA prospects which we have deemed “must see” contests.

Rocktop Academy vs. Dream Chasers Academy (NJ): For Rocktop the focus will be on transfer Earle Greer, Jr. and returning starter [player_tooltip player_id="991134" first="Devon" last="Jainlett"]. Greer is a 6’5”, bouncy combo guard who can score at all 3-levels. After last season at Delco Christian, Greer was the 2020-21 Bicentennial League MVP (16 & 9 per game) and was also a nominee for Pennsylvania’s Mr. Basketball award. Jainlett is 6’6” prospect who excels in the mid-range. He is an “under the radar” player poised for a breakout season this winter. (Tips off at 9:00AM.)

Archbishop Carroll vs. Sankofa Freedom Academy: Carroll’s superb Class of 2024 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="991425" first="Moses" last="Hipps"] already holds multiple DI offers. In addition to Hipps, Carroll’s lineup is stocked with college talent. Be sure to keep an eye on wing scoring threat [player_tooltip player_id="1281928" first="Shawnn" last="Smith"], high level shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id="1136565" first="Jake" last="West"], attack the rim style combo guard [player_tooltip player_id="991335" first="Dean" last="Coleman-Newsome"] and versatile forward Blake Deegan. Sankofa FA is headlined by 3-point shooting ace Zaki Alston. Alston owns “in the gym” range. (Tips off at 11:10AM.)

Perkiomen School vs. Spring Ford: The Perkiomen School’s program is loaded with prospects who will play at the next level but keep eye on two specific kids -- Priest Ryan and Thomas Haugh. Ryan is a tough, physical kid with a versatile skillset and a high basketball IQ. He cans score at all 3 levels and at the other end, Ryan guards 1 through 4. Haugh is a 6’9” prospect who handles like a point guard, drains threes like a shooting guard and cleans the glass (at both ends) like a power forward. Basically, Haugh is a unicorn in basketball shoes. Spring Ford is a very solid team and boasts one of biggest recruiting sleepers in the area – [player_tooltip player_id="1275983" first="Gavin" last="Shauder"]. He is a long and wiry athlete with capable hands who frequently catches defenders off guard with his deep bag of tricks. That bag includes quick twitch low post moves, a solid face up game and dribble drives to score at the rim. (Tips off at 12:15 PM)

Boyertown vs. Conestoga: Boyertown has three prospects that we like a good deal. This first is senior Eddie Higgins, a skilled and versatile prospect who excels in the highly valued stretch-4 role. Next is Jake Kapp (2023), a wing player who can score at all three levels. But what really grabs your attention with Kapp is the way he can play downhill and relentlessly attack the rim. The third prospect is Zach Ward. Ward’s length is his greatest offensive asset as it allows him to score over defenders in transition or snag offensive rebounds and convert them into second chance points. Ward can knock down threes at a high percentage too. Conestoga’s upper classmen will not be participating on Saturday, but make sure you check out sophomore combo guard [player_tooltip player_id="1281765" first="Brendan" last="Styer"]. With his smooth shooting mechanics and quick trigger, Styer is a sniper from behind the arc. (Tips off at 1:120 PM)

West Catholic vs. Caravel Academy (DE): West Catholic’s roster boasts numerous college basketball prospects, but the one that has garnered the most attention recently is combo-guard [player_tooltip player_id="1122111" first="Kaseem" last="Watson"]. His 43-point performance two weeks ago at the Post and Pivots Team Camp solidified Watson’s reputation as one of the most unstoppable offensive threats in the region. Running with Watson is [player_tooltip player_id="1121734" first="Zion" last="Stanford"], a 2023 wing scoring machine who blew up during the July 2021 grassroots circuit. Other college prospects to watch include Watson’s twin brother [player_tooltip player_id="1122112" first="Kareem" last="Watson"] as well as ultra-quick point guard Adam “Budd” Clark. (Tips off at 1:20 PM.)
