This past weekend, the top 250 players in Western PA and West Virginia were on display at the Highlands Sport Complex in Triadelphia, West Virginia. With the season right around the corner, the tournament was filled with talent looking to improve on their stock. Here were a few guards who stood out.

Nasir is a 5’11, 160 pound guard who is very disruptive on the defensive side of the ball. He has quickness and IQ to create turnovers on the ball or in the passing lane. Overall competitor, and brings high energy to the floor. Offensively, he can make shots behind the arc, and get to the basket with his ball handling. If he continues to work on his upper body strength and creating space on his jump shot, he could find himself competing on D1-D2 rosters.

[player_tooltip player_id="1310640" first="Kaden" last="Farrell"]-G-2023-Preston High School

Kaden is a 5’10, 155 pound point guard who can score inside the arc with pull-up jumpers, or pull-up a few feet behind the 3-point line. First step is quicker than you think! Kaden plays with a lot of swag and knows he belongs on the court. Tyler Hero comes to mind when I watch Kaden play. He uses his ball handling ability very well and can find his teammates. Defensively he competes and wont back down. IQ is there. If he continues to build upper body strength, he can contribute in D1-D2 programs.

Sharron Young-G-2024-Morgantown High School

Sharron is a 6’0, 150 pound combo guard who uses his quickness , ball handling, and natural instincts to his advantage. Shoots the ball well and can finish at the rim. Defensively, he plays very good man to man, and help defense. If he continues to build strength and 3-point shot, he will be a D1-D2 player.

Damon Givner-G-2025-University Prep Sci-Tech Obama Academy

Damon is a 5’9, 150 pound guard who pushes the pace offensively. He handles the ball well and is a natural when creating for his teammates. He can also knock down shots behind the arc. His game reminds you of Victor Oladipo. Defensively, he is aggressive on man to man defense. Damon moves his feet and doesn’t foul much when defending. If he continues working on strength and play against older competition, I can see him on D1-D2 rosters.

[player_tooltip player_id="1310623" first="Jamari" last="Jenkins"]-G-2025-Jefferson High School

Jamari is a 5’8, 140 pound floor general who understands the game and plays at a high level. Jamari checks the boxes for ball handling, outside shooting, toughness, and defense. He has good man to man, and gets his hands in the passing lane. If he continues to improve on mid range shooting and upper body strength, he could add value to a D1-D2 roster.
