<p>When you think of point guards in the state of Georgia, you start with Ohio State-commit [player_tooltip player_id="870146" first="Bruce" last="Thornton"]. The ballyhooed floor general captured his first state title last year and leads nationally ranked Milton in their quest to become the first team since 2008 to repeat as state champions in the GHSA’s highest classification.</p>
<p><strong>2022 6-2 [player_tooltip player_id="598778" first="Jameel" last="Rideout"] – Berkmar</strong></p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="598778" first="Jameel" last="Rideout"] has climbed up the ranks in terms of Georgia’s elite playmakers. He’s a lockdown defender that has grown his scoring each and every season. He’s one of the best unsigned seniors in the state.</p>
<p><strong>2022 6-2 [player_tooltip player_id="870151" first="Chase" last="Cormier"] – Milton</strong></p>
<p>In from Greenforest, [player_tooltip player_id="870151" first="Chase" last="Cormier"] provides shot making from the perimeter. He’s a three-point sharpshooter that has turned into a threat off the dribble. It will be interesting to see how he fits in with a crowded backcourt.</p>
<p><strong>2022 6-2 [player_tooltip player_id="870158" first="Kami" last="Young"] – Pebblebrook</strong></p>
<p>Known for his scoring back at North Cobb Christian, Young accepted a lesser yet still important role when he transferred to Pebblebrook. Now a senior and a leader with the Falcons, Young is ready to carry the load once again after a terrific offseason.</p>
<p><strong>2022 6-2 [player_tooltip player_id="1050037" first="Tyrese" last="Elliott"] – Grayson</strong></p>
<p>Elliott is part of a sneaky good backcourt that may not have the overall star power as years past, but will still produce D-I talent. Elliott is strong to the basket and has found his niche balancing scoring and distributing.</p>
<p><strong>2023 6-4 [player_tooltip player_id="1049219" first="London" last="Johnson"] – Norcross</strong></p>
<p>All signs point to [player_tooltip player_id="1049219" first="London" last="Johnson"] unleashing a monstrous season. Though he plays with a loaded roster, Johnson could emerge as the alpha male after an outstanding offseason. Johnson continues to climb to five-star status.</p>
<p><strong>2023 6-5 [player_tooltip player_id="820274" first="Stephon" last="Castle"] – Newton</strong></p>
<p>High Major programs are all over the big guard with freakish length. Castle will have the ball in his hands even more with [player_tooltip player_id="870154" first="TJ" last="Clark"]’s decision to go pro. Castle is a triple-double threat nightly.</p>
