Marlon Barnes Jr. Marlon Barnes Jr. 6'6" | SF Brush | 2023 State #161 Nation OH , 6’5 SF Brush 2023: Barnes left Ohio for a season to play for Ypsi Prep and didn’t fit in well. I’m hopeful a return home to play with Elmore James Elmore James 6'4" | SG Brush | 2022 State OH , Tyler Williams Tyler Williams 6'8" | C Brush | 2023 State OH and Antwone Woolfolk Antwone Woolfolk 6'8" | C Brush | 2022 State OH under Coach Chet Mason could get him back on track. Barnes is one of the most special shooters for his size that I’ve evaluated at his age. Barnes just hasn’t shown his progression in other areas of his game. Impacting high level prep basketball as a Sophomore is difficult, there’s a chance Barnes comes back to Brush and instantly boosts his stock again. I’ll be following his development very closely as he’s one of the most talented wing prospects in the state.
Will Maxwell Will Maxwell 6'5" | SF Oakwood | 2023 State OH , 6’5 SF Oakwood 2023: Maxwell is a player I’ve only seen on the grassroots setting and he hasn’t disappointed for All Ohio Red. Maxwell plays the SG position for All Ohio Red, as they ran a big starting line-up for their 16U program this summer. Maxwell is a good athlete that’s capable of playing either wing guard spot on the court. Maxwell is a streaky shooter who you can’t leave open from the outside. I was impressed with his production in the EYBL, not looking out of place at all on the court. Maxwell seems like a prime MAC target, Ohio, Kent State, Toledo and Akron have all already offered Maxwell from that league.
Eian Elmer Eian Elmer 6'6" | SF Taft | 2023 State OH , 6’6 SF Taft 2023: Elmer made the move just across the Ohio river, teaming up with Rayvon Griffith Rayvon Griffith 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #78 Nation AZ and the rest of a loaded Taft squad. I love Elmer’s physical tools and his run and jump ability from the wing position. Elmer is still very raw, learning where to be defensively and figuring out how to be a consistent producer. I liked what I saw from him this summer with Taft, I’m very excited to watch them during the high school season.
Amire Robinson Amire Robinson 6'4" | SF Buchtel | 2023 State OH , 6’4 SF Buchtel 2023: Robinson really impressed me this summer, playing a key role for Indiana Elite 16U that was one of the best 16U teams in the nation. Robinson doesn’t blow you away with scoring talent or athleticism, but he makes winning plays and knows how to play a role. These skills will really help Robinson when he steps on a college campus and needs to take a back seat to upperclassmen scorers. Losing Chris Livingston is tough for Buchtel, but it will put the ball in his hands more this season.
Luke Kuhlman Luke Kuhlman 6'4" | SF Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH , 6’4 SF Dublin Jerome 2023: For those that have been following these positional breakdowns, Dublin Jerome has a pretty special 2023 class. Between Kuhlman, Lachlan Robert MacDonald Lachlan Robert MacDonald 6'1" | SG Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH and Ryan Nutter Ryan Nutter 6'3" | PG Dublin Jerome | 2023 State OH , there’s legit talent in Dublin. Kuhlman is a great shooter with size and movement skills. I’d like to see Kuhlman take some notes from Nutter and improve his decision-making and make plays for his teammates. He’s got a lot to work with right now, but still has some progression to make before he can make an impact on a college campus. He will be a prospect I’ll be following closely this season.
