With the high school season fast approaching, we are taking a look at some of the best glue guys in the class of 2022. These players are ones who make their team better by doing the little things and making winning plays with other talented players on the floor.

Here’s a look at part two of some of the many top glue guys in the state.

Rueben McEachern | 5’10” PG | Carmel School

McEachern transfers to Carmel School from Henrico and has already asserted himself as a leader over the summer and it’s one of the things that makes him such a great glue guy. MeEachern is an old school floor general that sets the tone on both ends of the floor, he makes others around him better and he can score it efficiently when he needs to.

[player_tooltip player_id="999644" first="Stark" last="Jones"] | 6’2” PG | Cave Spring

Jones makes this list for a number of reasons, but one of them is that he’s an elite defender that moves his feet well and has good hands and anticipates well. He makes plays on both ends of the floor and anticipates well, he can makes plays for others off the bounce and he’s dynamic in transition where he’s an excellent finisher with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id="999656" first="Jadon" last="Burgess"] | 6’3” WG | Harrisonburg

Burgess is a three sport standout at Harrisonburg and a natural athlete, but his ability to do a little bit of everything on the court at his size makes him very intriguing moving forward. The lefty is able to play on and off the ball and has a great basketball IQ, he plays with a good motor on both ends and stuffs the stat sheet in a number of different ways.

[player_tooltip player_id="1241904" first="Sidney" last="Townsend"] | 6’4” WF | Veritas

Townsend is part of a number of talented young wings in the 757 area and he impacts the game on both ends of the floor with his blend of size, skill and athleticism. He thrives in transition where he can finish above the rim, he plays with great energy on both ends of the floor and he can score it from multiple levels in bunches.

[player_tooltip player_id="1117680" first="Josh" last="Hughes"] | 6’6” PF | Benedictine

Hughes is heading back to Benedictine where he started and he continues to develop nicely as a big man who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. He plays with great energy and runs the floor hard, he has a solid skill set that includes the ability to step out to 15 feet and he defends hard and mans the paint on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="1241878" first="Will" last="Bonde"] | 6’6” PF | Miller School

Bonde is part of a loaded Miller School group that should compete for a VISAA state championship this year with their mix of size and athleticism, and he’ll be an important part with his ability to play multiple positions and score it in different ways. At 6’6” he can really spray it from deep, he’s a good rebounder and he creates mismatches on both ends of the floor.
