As we shift our focus to elite camps and showcases in August and September we will begin by highlight some Indiana prospects that attracted a lot of attention over the summer months. These five guys all performed very well throughout the AAU season and are poised for a breakout sophomore high school season. If you missed it, here five seniors and five juniors who saw their recruitment blow up this summer.
Lyna Brooks (Franklin Central H.S. 2024)
Brooks is a physically dominant wing at 6’4″ and has a ton of ball skill. He had a successful freshman campaign at Franklin Central which he parlayed into a strong summer on the EYBL circuit with Indy Heat 15u. Brooks is a good perimeter shooter, but is at his best attacking the basket and playmaking off of the dribble. His size allows him to bully smaller defenders around the basket and keeps him moving downhill through contact on the perimeter. Very advanced game for his age.
Micah Davis (Franklin Community H.S. 2024)
When you see the Franklin Community star play the first thing that jumps out is his athleticism. The lefty guard has a nice shooting stroke from beyond the arc to go along with the ability to get up and finish above the rim even at 5’11”. Davis had a great summer playing with a talented EG10 2024 squad and even already earned a scholarship offer from IUPUI. He is explosive without being out of control which is a unique skill for a kid entering just his sophomore year. Be on the lookout for a huge year from Davis.
Daniel Garza Daniel Garza 6'5" | PF Bosco Institute | 2024 IN (Bishop Noll Institute 2024)
The 6’5″ Garza was very productive during the EYBL season for Indy Heat 15u. His size and length make him an excellent finisher around the basket. Garza possesses great footwork with a plethora of different moves to score it inside, especially with his left hand. His game continues to progress from the perimeter with each viewing as well. He does have a good handle which projects well for his ability to become a true wing threat. Excellent rebounder on both ends. Runs the floor and plays hard.
Jordan Lomax Jordan Lomax 6'3" | SG Brownsburg | 2024 State IN (Avon H.S. 2024)
Lomax burst onto the scene in July with consistent big time scoring efforts. The 6’2″ guard is a very good shooter with unlimited range. Guarding Lomax is difficult because he can beat you in such a variety of ways whether it be from the perimeter or breaking his man down off of the dribble. Super aggressive offensive player. Defensively he matches that aggressiveness by getting into the passing lanes and forcing turnovers.
Braden Walters Braden Walters 6'6" | PF Terre Haute North | 2024 State IN (Linton-Stockton H.S. 2024)
A 6’4″ physical wing/forward, Walters is a physically dominant player entering just his sophomore year. He more than held his own while playing up a year with Grand Park Premier 2023 on the UA Rise circuit. Walters is skilled with the ball as a driver and can finish in a variety of ways around the basket. He has a ton of defensively versatility as well with his size and strength. Joey Hart Joey Hart 6'5" | SG Linton-Stockton | 2023 State #214 Nation IN , rightfully so, gets a lot of the Linton-Stockton hype, but Walters is a very good prospect in his own right in the 2024 class.
