As we shift our focus to elite camps and showcases in August and September we will begin by highlight some Indiana prospects that attracted a lot of attention over the summer months. These five guys saw their recruitment really pick up and are poised for a breakout junior high school season. If you missed it, here are five seniors that saw their recruitment blow up this summer.
Anthony Dancler Anthony Dancler 6'2" | SG Southport | 2023 State IN (Southport H.S. 2023)
A.J. Dancler is a scoring point guard that had a good summer running the show for George Hill All Indy. The 6’0″ lead guard is a playmaker offensively that can create his own shot off of the dribble and is really hard to keep out of the paint. Very good three-point shooter as well. Dancler has already scored over 600 points in just 38 varsity games at Southport and is poised for a huge junior year. He recently picked up his first Division I offer from Northern Illinois.
Joey Hart Joey Hart 6'5" | SG Linton-Stockton | 2023 State #214 Nation IN (Linton-Stockton H.S. 2023)
The 6’5″ guard already had a couple of offers from Indiana State and New Orleans last year, but with a very strong summer he experienced a jump in his recruitment earning a Big 10 offer from Northwestern and more recently an offer from Drake. Hart is one of the best scorers in the state. He can catch fire from beyond the arc and is an athletic finisher when attacking the rim. Hart has a lot of high-major interest coming his way currently with a recent unofficial visit to Indiana. Coming out of July he has solidified himself as one of the top prospects in the state and is without a doubt a high-major prospect.
Logan Imes Logan Imes 6'4" | PG Zionsville | 2023 State #202 Nation IN (Zionsville H.S. 2023)
Imes played up with the Indiana Elite 17u team in July and more than held his own against the older guys. The 6’4″ point guard is a very skilled offensive player that does a little bit of everything well. He has a quick first step burst off the bounce to get by his defender and is a very good finisher with his size. Excellent shooter from beyond the arc as well.
Imes picked up three Division I offers on June 29th from Akron, Bradley, and SIU-Edwardsville that kicked off his recruitment and it has snowballed ever since. Massachusetts and Creighton jumped in during July with many more schools at all levels heavily interested. I expect to see his recruitment blow up in a way that Connor Essegian Connor Essegian 6'4" | SG Central Noble | 2022 State #170 Nation IN ‘s did where he just starts getting offers from everyone.
Sam Orme Sam Orme 6'9" | SF Carmel | 2023 State #196 Nation IN (Carmel H.S. 2023)
It is no surprise that a 6’8″ shooter would experience a breakout summer and see his recruitment make a jump. Orme is without a doubt one of the best shooters in the state of Indiana and at his size coaches absolutely love what he brings to the table offensively. Over the summer playing on the UAA Rise circuit with Grand Park Premier, Orme has really developed off of the bounce by showing that he can attack closeouts and create pull-up jumpers for himself.
Indiana State and Western Michigan have offered the Carmel sharpshooter and he recently took an unofficial to IU with his AAU teammate Joey Hart Joey Hart 6'5" | SG Linton-Stockton | 2023 State #214 Nation IN .
Preston Roberts Preston Roberts 6'5" | SF Noblesville | 2023 State IN (Noblesville H.S. 2023)
Playing for Grassroots Indiana, Roberts earned an offer from Coastal Carolina after the final live evaluation period in July to kick off his recruitment. The 6’4″ wing has explosive athleticism which makes him very hard to stop when driving to the basket. Roberts is excellent in the open floor and an effective driver breaking his man down off the dribble in the half court. He is very active in passing lanes defensively as well. Just starting to scratch the surface of his potential.
