The class of 2022 saw some shakeups with the key departures of some of the best players in the class as well as the reclassification of [player_tooltip player_id="889463" first="Max" last="Alexander"] to the class of 2022. Here is a quick recap.

2022 Departures

[player_tooltip player_id="891914" first="Tyrese" last="Cannon"], 6’4 Wing, Raytown South (MO), 2022: An athletic wing who can slash and attack the rim with some of the best of them. Can provide some highlight tape in transition running the floor and getting out and letting his ability take over. Look for him to find some stability in the half court game and refine his ability in that portion of his offensive game.

[player_tooltip player_id="787630" first="Taj" last="Manning"], 6’7 Forward, La Lumiere (IN), 2022

The talented 3-5 man will be taking his 15 points and 7 rebounds per game with him to the acclaimed Ls Lumiere program where he will be able to play against some top tier opponents and really hone in his game. His perimeter play grew big time this summer and the athletic and powerful forward has gained some versatility to his offensive game making him even more scary to have to try and guard. Shot is well over 60% from the field in HS this season and was the most efficient scorer in the UAA finals this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="891912" first="Nahcs" last="Wahwassuck"], 6’5 Guard, Link Academy, 2022

A crafty finisher, dominant when getting down hill, big time on ball screens, and can guard the 1-4. Link will have a ton of flexibility with Wahwassuck this season on their loaded roster. Averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists over the grassroots season. Starting to shoot the 3 ball off the catch really well. Link will be loaded and seeing Wahwassuck be able to facilitate for some of those guys should be fun.

[player_tooltip player_id="891902" first="Julian" last="Margrave"], 6’9 Forward, New Hampton Prep, 2022

Will be fun to keep an eye out for Margrave next season. The big time lengthy shooter will be taking his talents to New Hampshire this year to continue to grow his game. His length, knockdown shooting ability, and defensive versatility will bring an instant impact to New Hampton and as his attacking with the ball and playing off the catch game continues to get refined against top competition, Margrave is going to become an elite talent.

[player_tooltip player_id="1139917" first="Jevon" last="Hill"], 6’8 Forward, Legacy School (TX) 2022

Another long stretch 4, wing hybrid who will look to continue to refine his game down in Texas. Was a top tier shooter in Kansas this last high school season and throughout the grassroots run. Continuing to develop his strength and athleticism will go a long ways with his game with his 3 point shooting and length continuing to translate for him to contribute right away in his new venture. The structure of program down there should allow for Hill to take massive strives in his game, physical traits, and understanding of the game.

Javan Buchanan, 6’6 Forward, Lafayette Jefferson (IN), 2022

Indiana is getting them a big time player in the state to join a loaded class in 2022 for them as well. Versatile and athletic wing/forward who had a great summer already playing up in Indiana. Knocks down shots, is extremely active on both ends of the floor, and has some great physical tools to allow him to be contributor wherever he is at. Him putting the ball on the deck and getting into the paint led to some eye popping finishes and plays at the rim over the summer. Big year ahead for Javan.

2022 Reclass

[player_tooltip player_id="889463" first="Max" last="Alexander"], 6’ PG, Next Level Prep: As mentioned earlier, Alexander is joining the 2022 class in the top 10. The strides in his game and continued development of his athleticism at Next Level will pay big dividends for the point guard as he looks to amp up his recruitment. Already a prolific shooter and driver of the ball, Alexander will look to make a splash in the post grad scene this year.
