[player_tooltip player_id="1167512" first="Brody" last="Rardin"] - Rock Canyon/Collective - 22’

This past weekend, [player_tooltip player_id="1167512" first="Brody" last="Rardin"] and fellow Collective guard Kyle Sweeney combined for eleven made three pointers. At 6’2, Rardin is primarily used as an off-ball shooter, who uses his high release point to get up jumpers above the perimeter defense. Off of the catch, Rardin is a deadeye whose shooting form is the textbook and consistent every shot. Rardin demonstrated some self-creation chops, four times using on-ball screens to create mid-range jumpers, of which two went in. Going into his senior year at Rock Canyon, Rardin will likely be one of the best off-ball shooters in the state.

Kyle Sweeney - Arapahoe/Collective - 22’ (shown above)

The second of Collective’s splash brothers, Kyle Sweeney made quick work exploiting PLUTO Prospects’ perimeter defense. Sweeney nailed at least five three pointers, of which three were contested. Sweeney is a compact, 6-foot shooting guard with a lower albeit quick release. Like Rardin, Sweeney has a pure jumper and will be a constant pest for whichever defense must face him. Going forward, I would like to see him more attacking closeouts more often, as he is a bulky guy at around 160 pounds who could take advantage of more at-rim attempts.

[player_tooltip player_id="965810" first="Said" last="Mobasher"] - Thomas Jefferson/Miners - 22’

Playing point guard for Thomas Jefferson, Mobasher does a phenomenal job finding his teammates. Standing at 6’1, Mobasher has lead guard handles, being able to effectively use a variety of dribble moves to penetrate to the rim. When attacking closeouts, he always has his head up searching for an open teammate. He even demonstrated the unique ability to hit corner shooters right in the pocket off of one-handed passes. It is not often you can find a playmaking guard who can confidently sling passes so effortlessly and more important, accurately.

Cameron Storm - Green Mountain/Bahl & Bahl - 22’

Standing at 6’6, Cameron Storm plays efficient, taking high percentage shots at the rim, blocking shots, and demonstrating soft touch on rebounds. Storm made sure to aggravate the opponents with his defensive presence inside. He showed a combination of defensive fundamentals, such as consistent high hands and intuitive timing on at-rim contests. Storm made a consistent effort to be one of the first to the bucket on fast breaks, leading to at least four easy layups.

[player_tooltip player_id="1046034" first="Cameron" last="Lowe"] - Lewis-Palmer/PLUTO Prospects - 22’

In last weekend’s gold division championship game, Lowe remained a consistent offensive threat for the victorious PLUTO club. At 6’5, Lowe has the size to shoot over others and take contact at the rim. He had multiple layups where he caught the defense off-guard, leading to crucial fouls in crunch time. Their game ended up going into overtime, where Lowe did a fantastic job getting rebounds to stabilize PLUTO’s 7-0 run to start overtime. There were a few possessions where Lowe demonstrated his ability to quickly change speeds, an area that could propel his scoring production.
