Big Shots Nationals: 2021 Top Performers

<p>Prep Hoops took in plenty of action this weekend at the Big Shots Nationals in Rock Hill. Some players from this past senior year were in attendance playing in the Class of 2021. Who were some of these players ? Who’s still looking for a school this fall ? Who’s is set and off to college or prep school this fall ? College programs #RecruitThePalmettoState </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="869623" first="Xavier" last="Thornton"] - Anderson Christian - PCH Nightrydas SC (pictured on front)</strong></p> <p>Prep Hoops hadn’t really seen Thornton since late February when he helped the Lions win a SCISA Class 1A State Championship. Thornton was suited up with the Midlands based program this weekend here at the Big Shots Nationals. Thornton has attended Alexander HS (GA) and Westside HS in the past prior to this season. Xavier is a very versatile player that can play 1-3 positions on the floor. Trey isn’t flashy at the end of the day and is what he’s on the floor. Miles leaves it all out on the floor and just manufactures points in complete effort. Gasque a wiry pogo stick is a very athletic young man. Gasque must get stronger with his frame and really excesl in a transition style of play. Gasque attended Andrews HS before making the move to North Carolina. Scott a All-Region Player of the Year  and All-State performer helped the Bulldogs win a Class 3A State Championship this past season. Mayfield started this past season at Moravian Prep (NC) before he came over to Franklin Prep. Mayfield finished his high school career at Anderson Christian. Shuler spent time at Gray Collegiate, Denmark-Olar and Bethune Bowman HS while in the Palmetto State. Flood and Richardson were once high school teammates at Lower Richland HS before this past season. Flood played at Sunrise Christian (KS) this past year while Richardson made stops at Moravian Prep (NC) and Southern California Academy. The duo will play as members of the 2022 class this coming season in Canada. </p> <p>Flood had committed to Austin Peay University when Matt Figger was then the coach. </p>
