IYBA hosted the Illinois High school Summer Jamboree this past weekend at the Hope Center aka Quest Center in Chicago. There were 32 High School teams from the Chicago and Chicagoland areas who played 5 games over the weekend. Here are the top prospects who showed out.

Fenwick

[player_tooltip player_id="1049061" first="Denium" last="Juette"] G (2022)

Tough athletic guard who finishes well in transition. Plays good on ball defense. Brings football toughness, quick hands, and agility plays a huge part in his game.

[player_tooltip player_id="863601" first="Gabe" last="Madej"] F (2022)

Gabe is a solid shooter from three-point range. He made a couple of plays around the rim through contact showing he’s not a one trick pony.

Hunter Duncan G (2023)

Hunter first interactions with his new team went well. He’s a crafty lead guard who shows some spurts as a scorer but is more of a facilitator. He didn’t take long to get accustomed to Chicago’s style of play.

Kenwood

[player_tooltip player_id="939077" first="Javonte" last="Taylor"] F (2023)

The top junior Taylor puts on a dunk show each and every time he’s one the court. JJ plays well in open court situations making KD style pull up three pointers and ESPN highlight dunks.

[player_tooltip player_id="1157227" first="Christopher" last="Riddle"] G (2024)

Chris is strong bodied guard who is a solid shooter and makes athletic plays at the rim. Played strong in a lead role with the younger talented Broncos.

[player_tooltip player_id="939050" first="Darrin" last="Ames"] G (2023)

Lefty shooter who is getting better and better at getting to the rim and creating for teammates. He has shown improvement athletically sneaking in a few dunks on fast breaks.

Hyde Park

Davonte Hall G (2022)

Poised guard who can change his style of play based off what his coach needs from him. Hall can score using various ways in the lane floaters and runners. And when it is not expected he gets easier shots for his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id="1215301" first="Camron" last="Williford"] G (2023)

Really shifty guard who like his teammate Hall can score at the rim in various way. Opposing teams have fits because Camron can get in the lane whenever he wants.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048725" first="Malik" last="Jenkins"] F (2022)

Malik is a player who has a little bit of everything just has to put it all together. Jenkins did a good job battling on the boards. He is able to score in multiple ways but this weekend he was a glass eater.

St. Rita

[player_tooltip player_id="994687" first="Kaiden" last="Space"] G (2023)

Space did a really good job running the show from the lead guard spot for the Mustangs. Kaiden showed he has great basketball IQ feeding his big men making it easier for his own scoring opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id="1157228" first="James" last="Brown"] F/C (2024)

Top sophomore prospect looked the part. Running the floor well catching lobs and finishing dunks with guys challenging him at the rim. James has definitely improved in the post making a couple of hook shots. He has good hands and does great job battling on the boards.

[player_tooltip player_id="1157230" first="Morez" last="Johnson"] F/C (2024)

Johnson has shown much improvement in his perimeter shot. Morez made a corner three and later on a mid-range jumper. He is another load to handle in the paint. On defense he challenged many shots using his length.

[player_tooltip player_id="939056" first="Bryce" last="Coleman"] F (2023)

Coleman had a solid performance around the rim. Scoring a few buckets off layups through contact. Bryce can be huge for Rita in a state run.

Michelle Clark

[player_tooltip player_id="863604" first="Mikell" last="Jones"] F (2022)

Physical post player that has good hands and touch at the rim. Mikell searches for contact when he has the ball and scores though guys as if they are not guarding him. Space eater on D he keeps guys off the glass with his body.

[player_tooltip player_id="863603" first="Mikqwon" last="Jones"] F (2022)

The agile wing player Mikqwon can attack off the dribble and can move well laterally in the lane. He can score off crafty finishes and through contact.

[player_tooltip player_id="863590" first="Sulaimon" last="Agiste"] C (2022)

Agiste was the human eraser. He challenged any and everything at the rim. Very nimble on his feet Sulaimon has good timing on shots which works well for blocks and rebounding put backs. On offense he got a couple of dunks off missed shots and passes from teammates.

Julian

Darell Brown G (2023)

Long and agile guard who made a couple threes from the wing. He uses his long arms on defense turning steals to scoring opportunities. Brown scored several times with straight line drives over smaller players.

Genesis English F (2022)

Strong forward who is relentless on the boards. Genesis made a couple plays from out of the post. Making solid jump hooks in the lane. His motor is non stop and he has showed improvement offensively.

St. Ignatius

[player_tooltip player_id="989270" first="Richard" last="Barron"] F (2023)

Strong guard who has tons of range on shot. Does a good job at taking guys to the hole and absorbing contact. Barron can play on the perimeter or inside. He’s a pick your poison type of player.

[player_tooltip player_id="925217" first="Kolby" last="Gilles"] F (2022)

Football body type Gilles moves well with the ball and can make some rather athletic plays at the rim. Gilles plays better on the wing than in the post.

Proviso East

[player_tooltip player_id="1048386" first="Jaloni" last="Johnson"] F (2023)

Jaloni is a fierce competitor on defense. He picks up full court and rattles ballhandlers turning steals into fast break points. In the half court he made some tough shots with defenders in his face.

[player_tooltip player_id="1210383" first="Javon" last="Johnson"] F (2022)

The older brother of (Jaloni) Javon gets to his spots on the court at will. He made several shots going to his left that were difficult with defenders in his way. Just like his brother Johnson gets after it on defense and doesn’t back down from anyone.
