Daniel Johnson Daniel Johnson 6'6" | SF Whitney Young | 2023 State #231 Nation IL (Whitney Young)
Current Ranking: #10
Previous Ranking: #35
Johnson transferred over to Whitney Young as a sophomore and stepped right into a role they needed. Perimeter shot maker. The lengthy small forward had multiple games during the high school season and this spring with Meanstreets where he was unconscious from deep draining shots at a super high clip. Three and D potential at the next level and one that mid-majors need to monitor in June and July.
Ty Pence Ty Pence 6'4" | SG St. Joseph Ogden | 2023 State IL (St. Joseph Ogden)
Current Ranking: #12
Previous Ranking: #27
Pence had a monster sophomore campaign including the several times we saw him. Improved athletically which opened up more avenues for him to impact the game to go along with his excellent shot making from beyond the three point arc. Would be a great fit at the mid-major level!
Jaloni Johnson Jaloni Johnson 6'4" | SG Proviso East | 2023 State IL (Proviso East)
Current Ranking: #40
Previous Ranking: #62
Silky smooth combo guard that leans more toward the two guard spot. Wins off the bounce slithering through the defense. Speaking of defense he has the capability to defend either spot in the backcourt.
Mekhi Lowery (Oswego East)
Current Ranking: #50
Previous Ranking: NR
Lowery burst on the scene this spring with the Illinois Stars. Like the projectability quite a bit here with his long and lanky frame. Quick to the offensive glass, runs the floor hard in transition, and can put it on the deck with creativity in the half court.
Graham Smith (Lyons)
Current Ranking: #67
Previous Ranking: NR
This 6’5” shooting guard from LT shined in the spring for Breakaway with his above average positional size, dead eye three point shooting, and gritty drives. Just another wing scorer for Lyons!
Mekhi Doby (Rockford Guilford)
Current Ranking: #68
Previous Ranking: NR
Doby ran with a couple different teams on the Prep Hoops Circuit this spring impressing with each. The 6’4” shooting guard is silky smooth getting whatever he wants. Money from distance draining threes off the bounce and catch. Shields the ball at the rim when he drives.
