2024 Justin Janssen (Fox Valley Kings/Neenah, WI)
A big-bodied 6-1 wing, Janssen was impressive as a shooter on Sunday morning, knocking down five 3s, showing a quick release and smooth, repeatable stroke. He then used the overly aggressive closeouts to get into the paint and find open teammates for layups or open 3s. He’s a physical wing who also finishes through contact around the rim and contributes on the glass on both ends. He finished with a team-high 17 points in the blowout win.
2024 Drew Hanzel (Fox Valley Kings/Waunakee, WI)
A thin and rangy 6-2 wing, Hanzel had an impressive early morning performance in Fox Valley’s blowout win over Next Level. He can score from all three levels, impact the game defensively with his length, and he flashed some good court vision and passing abilities.
2024 AJ Hawzee (Minnesota Magic Premier/Anoka, MN)
A superb athlete, Hawzee created all sorts of chaos on both ends of the floor in the Magic’s blowout win over Team 1848. A springy 6-2 wing, he has excellent length that he uses to really make an impact at the top of the Magic press, and he plays downhill offensively in the halfcourt, using his quickness and length to get to the bucket routinely for finishes. An explosive open-court athlete who can finish above the rim, he looks like a really solid long-term prospect.
2024 Anthony Knight (Minnesota Matrix/Roseville, MN)
A 5-7 point guard, Knight is an excellent ball-handler with the ability to break down a defender and get to the rim seemingly at will at this level. He does a good job changing speeds and playing with pace to get by his defender, and as he matures physically he should improve as a finisher around the rim. He doesn’t shy away from contact, but doesn’t quite have the strength to finish through it consistently right now.
2023 Zane Witt Zane Witt 6'6" | PF Camanche | 2023 State IA (Iowa Mavericks Grey/Camanche, IA)
The 6-6 power forward was excellent on both ends of the floor for the Mavericks in their win over WOTN. He’s an agile big who runs the floor, can protect the rim, and rebounds at a high level. He’s an improving offensive threat who had an impressive catch and drop-step into a powerful dunk.
2023 Hayden Jacobsmeier (Iowa Mavericks Grey/Dubuque Senior, IA)
A 6-0 wing, Jacobsmeier is a long and skilled perimeter playmaker who sees the floor well and can get his own bucket at a high clip. He handles the ball well and has excellent footwork on his drives to the rim. He can shoot it from 3, but is at his best when he’s playing downhill and getting to the bucket.
