Which prospects stood out from the rest on Saturday at the Prep Hoops Circuit’s Battle at the Lakes?

[player_tooltip player_id="1210404" first="Aiden" last="Rock"] -- Quad City High School Prep -- SF -- 2022

Rock kicked off the day with a terrific performance in a win for Quad City High School Prep. The 6-foot-4 small forward really impressed me with his versatility. He was able to score at all three levels and showed some potential on defense, too. Rock notched 16 points in the winning effort.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048716" first="Famious" last="French"] -- Illinois HoopStars -- SF -- 2022

If he continues to improve and get better, there is no doubt that French could be one of the top small forwards in Illinois’ 2022 class. Standing at 6-foot-6, French is an athletic prospect that finds most of his success around the hoop. He is able to use his height and length to score over defenders with ease. On Saturday, French recorded 15 points for his team in a win.

[player_tooltip player_id="1189103" first="Andrew" last="Gregerson"] -- E1T1 Elite -- G -- 2022

Making his presence felt in a morning game, Gregerson put up 19 points in a win. After only scoring three points in the first period, the guard got hot in the second, as he made four triples. Whenever his team needed a big shot, Gregerson was there to knock it down. E1T1’s Gregerson proved that he is a very dangerous scorer on Saturday.

Jordan Schumann -- MN Comets -- G -- 2022

Leading the MN Comets to an impressive victory, Schumann did a lot of positive things on the offensive side of the ball. Standing at 6-foot-4, the guard is able to use his height to shoot over smaller defenders and finish tough layups at the rim. In a win, Schumann scored 17 points on four made threes. Schumann is definitely a prospect that could make a smaller college program very happy.

[player_tooltip player_id="958643" first="Thomas" last="Diew"] -- Hustle Hard MN -- PF -- 2022

Diew is a prospect that I think could make some noise at the college level. Standing at 6-foot-8, the power forward has great positional size. He also possesses a lot of athleticism. His combination of athletic ability and skill makes him a real force to be reckoned with on the block. Doing all of his work near the rim, Diew was able to control the paint on both sides. In a close loss, Diew put up 18 points.

David Danforth -- 920 Elite -- PG -- 2022

It was a bit of an up-and-down game for Danforth, but when he was on, he was really impressive. The 920 Elite point guard scored 21 points for his squad in a losing effort. I liked the quickness that Danforth showed off the dribble. When he made a move to the rim, there were no defenders that could stop him. The point guard also showed off his smooth jumper, as he made three threes.

[player_tooltip player_id="996074" first="DJ" last="Starr"] -- Illinois HoopStars -- PG -- 2022

Starr did all of his scoring from behind the arc in a blowout win for the Illinois HoopStars. The 6-foot point guard tallied 18 points on six made threes. I really liked how Starr was able to push the pace in transition, which led to opportunities for himself and his teammates. Starr’s ability to knock down jump shots and run an offense makes him a very attractive college prospect.
