DENVER, CO-- After watching over 24 hours of hoops in the Centennial State this weekend, I feel I got a pretty good grasp of what the Class of 2024 has to offer after watching teams from Colorado, Nevada, Wyoming, and more. As we look at my All-Tournament Team for the 2024s, I just wanted to make one small note. I covered this tournament virtually, so although I did my best to watch every team in 2024, sometimes I was held with technical difficulties. Besides the point, I feel confident that these are the top prospects I watched in multiple gyms on an "as seen" basis at the #PHSpringKickoff in Denver. Here we go!

FIRST TEAM

Tanner Braketa | Guard | B&B 9th Black/Ralston Valley (CO) (2024)

Braketa, the 5’10 guard from Ralston Valley, went absolutely off in the game I witnessed on Saturday afternoon. He showed what a versatile catch & shoot scorer he was and was also burning his opponents going to the basket but mainly from the three-point strike. Braketa scored, from my eyes, a tournament game-high of 32 points against PSB Elite 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id="1164613" first="Luke" last="Wohl"] | Guard | West Coast Rebels/Liberty (NV) (2024)

Wohl stood out as the most consistent prospect on both ends of the ball this weekend from this first team. He not only could score from anywhere you wanted him to, but he also has super active in the passing lanes in the first game I watched this morning, grabbing a handful of steals for the Rebels. Wohl is a 5’11 guard prospect who had a strong motor and had a more muscular build than most guards at his age.

[player_tooltip player_id="1137807" first="Max" last="Howery"] | Guard/Forward | Pluto Prospects/St. Marys (CO) (2024)

Howery was a well-talked-about prospect this weekend in Denver and, from my eyes, played with excellent pace in the games I watched from Pluto Prospects this weekend. His pace leads him to score when it was his time to shine, and he was a team player every other chance he got where that was on the boards, etc. Howery was the king of consistent from top to bottom. From what I have read on Max in Colorado, he seems to have already a clear path to play at the college level as he’s already logged a lot of varsity minutes as just a freshman on varsity for St. Mary’s out of Colorado Springs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1192697" first="Carson" last="Steinke"] | Forward | Colorado Anarchy/Highland (CO) (2024)

Steineke was a kid that blew up on Saturday night despite coming in on the losing end in the game. Steinke defines the term of an all-purpose weapon. He has super long arms to gobble up rebounds and is a super effective defender that’s light on his feet for a 6’3 forward. He doesn’t carry the most significant frame around, but he’s super versatile and can burn you offensively in multiple ways from inside to the three-point line. Steinke saw the JV roster as a freshman for the Highland Huskies.

[player_tooltip player_id="1137829" first="Cass" last="Henry"] | Forward/Center | Collective 15U Williams/Arapahoe (CO) (2024)

Henry was a dominant paint presence on Saturday and in the game, I watched on Sunday. Henry shows a next-level touch with his post play and moves much more precisely than most bigs of his size. Standing at 6’6, Henry has the grittiest to his game; that is another tough find for a big man at this level. You might just see one of his guards that was feeding him this weekend on our second team!

SECOND TEAM

Chase Talich | Guard | Rocky Mountain Fever National 15U/Cheyenne Central (WY) (2024)

Hudl Profile

Eli Patterson | Forward | Wyoming Power 2024/Buffalo (WY) (2024)

Check out my tweet from this afternoon on Patterson:

Maximus Matthews | Forward | Colorado Gold/Northfield (CO) (2024)

Matthews had me tweeting multiple times throughout the weekend and was more than likely my next up prospect when it came to the 2024 All-Tournament Team.
